I give a rating based on how the post relates to the person
not whether I agree with the premise of the post or not
If the person puts thought into it
and believes in what they are posting
I'll give them a ten
:)

I know some of your close friends wouldn't agree but it's good to know you rate depending on the person's internal belief in their post.
I agree that a post which articulately puts forth a position with passion helps to give insight into a topic one could not get otherwise.
I agree with John S, and that is basically my criteria for ratings.
I either leave a ten
or nothing at all
Fred I am just glad that you allow ratings! your posts are reliably good.
I still have no clue what value the ratings are if your points are value based at cash out. That is also something I have not done, cash out. Of what value does ratings add or not to a post?
Therefor if there stars are turned on I will give them a ten.
Nice to know how others do the star thingy. It makes a person feel good to get a ten, so why not spread around a little good cheer?
I rate a 10 always and I rate so I will know if I've read the post or not so that when I check back on articles and posts I'll know if I've already read them or not. LOL
I think (hope) that most members will agree that the rating system should never be used to reflect your support (or not) for the subject of the content. However, since the system is intended to 'bubble up' and 'bubble down' content you find compelling, then it would be difficulty for many members to make a distinction between the subject of a post, photo or video and the time and effort that went into its creation.
