I've been in the hospital.

Friends,

On the evening of Jan 19, I suffered a stroke. I was taken by ambulance to the emergency room and admitted to the hospital. The stay at the hospital was till Jan 23.

I was then sent to, a second hospital for rehab, physical and other training. I was in rehab to approximately two weeks. During that time they worked on regaining my strength, balance and coordination. The stroke was not serious, but left me impaired on my right side. I returmed home today the 6th of Feb. As I am right-handed, my ability too write and use my right hand is not too well. I can now walk using a walker.

I will be receiving additional rehab training from home health workers for the next few weeks. Hopefully, I will regain nearly complete use of my right hand and be able to walk without having to use a walker.

Steve, I'm so sorry you're going through this. My mother had a horrible stroke last year -- so massive the doctors said it was a miracle she could even recognize us and speak again! She is doing very, very well overall. I'm glad you are so coherent and I pray things will start going better with your health. Therapy can work wonders, even if it is a pain!

I will pray that you get rehabilitation for your right side, and can learn to use it to gain strength again. Strokes are either really devastating, or not too bad and can be gotten over. I will pray that yours is the second kind.

Steve I am glad you are doing better now. The older we get the more things like this happen to us. I have a friend that at the age of 82 had a stroke. Now at the age of 86 he is out chaseing women again. LOL he drove up from Florida with his new friend this week with his good kid. She is only 69. There is hope out there for all of us after watching my friend, even those of us that have not had a stroke.

I guess I am a little late to hear the news. I am sorry that you suffered a stroke, it must have been frightening! Now that it is September; has their been any improvement on your right side! I will keep you my thoughts. Update us and so that we will know what's going on.
