Three newspaper groups represented to cover the Obama campaign were kicked off this morning from the campaign plane. All three of these papers have endorsed McCain. The Obama campaign says it's to make room on the plane for people making a documentary, but I believe it goes deeper than that. I believe that Obama does not want any "enemy" ears on board his plane. He tends to shut down those who don't stand with him and this is dangerous folks. Is that what we will expect from an Obama administration? He has already shut down two television stations because of the "hard" questions they have asked of his campaign. I don't know about you, but in my book, that's not right. He should be ready to accept the hard questions and let the American people know what his agenda is. Truth is what should be in those answers. But, we get a campaign that shuts out, puts down, destroys those who do not stand with them. Is that what we want from Washington? You have a glimpse of it now, before it's too late to do something about it.
Aides from the Obama campaign have been talking and saying that Obama is going to have to let the people down slowly on his campaign promises, so the country does not fall into despair if he's in the White House. Obviously, as it has been evident to a lot of us here in Gather, Obama cannot make good on those promises. We have heard his rhetoric on giving 95% of the Americans a tax break, when only a little over half of those Americans actually pay taxes. We understand that his goal is to set up a welfare state when he wrecks the economy by taxing the very sources who provide the jobs and the engines to wealth.
So, here it is, just days before the election and we are going to be manipulated by a man who is in quest of power to be the leader of the free world. People, you better think long and hard as to who you will be willing to follow in the next four years.
The choice is clear to me as I have already made my choice. I support McCain as he will bring an environment for opportunity for all Americans to work and to improve their lot in life if they so choose to do so. McCain will fight for us, as he has for most of his adult life, and I have no questions he will continue to do so. He will provide a veto in the oval office, and given the apparent loss of Republican seats in Congress we will NEED his veto against more taxation, decreased spending of our defense as supported by Barney Frank, and a more balanced Supreme Court versus a more liberal court as the democrats would endorse. You have to agree that McCain is not a right-winger, he's fought others in his own party and he will continue to do so if it's not right for the country. We need him to bring this nation together and end the partisan bickering in Washington. We need the transparency he will bring so we, the people, will begin to see how our elected officials are handling our business, not the lobbyist's business! Pork barrel spending will be cut, if not totally erased from bills, and we will be richer for it. So, you make your choice. Think of your kids, your grandkids. Do you want another TRILLION dollars of debt to be added to their backs because you want to have something handed to you by the government? It's your choice, choose wisely.

So what is there some rule here on Gather that articles have to be written so everyone agrees? There are partisan articles coming from both sides all over this site.
Without one, this sounds like partisan blathering.

Ofcourse you do and if it was McCain you would deem it justified.
And with the figure of 95% all earning less that 5% of the wealth, why is all this whining going on?
Ridiculous Barbara. Find something real, something verifiable.
Money, when you have more than you need, doesn't mean much.
Money, when you have LESS than you need, means survival.
I'm tired as hell of the constant whining for people who'd sell us for pocket change if they had the option to.
What kind of secret stuff do you think Obama discusses on his plane?
Both candidates have totally ignored the economic collapse when it comes to their campaign promises. McCain's tax program is every bit as unlikely to be enacted into law as Obama's. In general, campaign promises don't get fulfilled. It doesn't matter which party makes them. It's a fact of political life. You can't vote in an informed manner if you believe that campaign promises are real.
Here's the speech, show me where he said that because he did not.
You lied.

Dudes, if he was really going to just dump people who didn't agree with him, I would have started with Fox News.
Is this a surprise? No it isn't.
So. What's your point?
It wasn't a joke at all. From all that I learn of these people, I still can't think my first thoughts were too farfetched. I had seen a statement he made a couple of months ago to the effect that he was going to be making decisions that Democrats weren't going to like, and now you report that the campaign spokespeople are saying he's going to go back on his promises. This doesn't surprise me at all. Look at the way he voted on the immunity for telecom companies for their role in tapping private citizens' phones after he had stated unequivocally that he was going to vote to implicate them. He's so clearly a sham and scam artist, and anyone who doesn't see through it is a moron.
Is this a surprise? No it isn't.

There's the youtube link so you can hear and watch it for yourself Sharon. Take the little scroll bar on the bottom of the screen to 9:00 minutes and watch the rest of it. You will hear it and see it. Then call me a liar.
Or maybe I edited the YouTube piece? Are you people all residing in the same group home?
