Gatherers,

Over the past week, many members have expressed their concerns about the latest and greatest upgrade to their Gather experience.  This past week has been quite stressful on all of us, especially me.  Seeing how many members have written negative articles, threatened to leave, or changed their icon to an animal butt had made it increasingly difficult for me to enjoy my daily money baths.

As a way to help ease member concerns, I invite everyone to join me, (Fake) Tom Gerace, for a one hour live-chat this Monday (July 28th) at 5pm ET.  Please bring with you any gripes, complaints, or concern you have about the Ice upgrade as I share with you my vision for Gather and cherrypick questions from the submission queue.  For those of you with questions that can't make it to the chat on Monday, please submit one in the comments section of this post.

I'm looking forward to a lively and entertaining conversation!

hi Tom-faker, is it possible to change the time of this talk to make it more suitable for all the people in Australia, like say 3am your time which is 5pm here? That way all the Aussies that never get to ask a question because of the time difference ( and I won't even mention the fact that they can't cash in their points! ) will finally get a chance to participate.

You do appear to be within the general boundaries of parody/satire and fair use, here. Since so many people seem to misunderstand those boundaries, you deserve some kudos for getting that right. On the other hand, that isn't an end in itself. The point of parody isn't just to make it defensible, but to make it entertaining. The entertainment value isn't derived solely from a demonstration of walking the line without going over it. It's actually a separate thing, requiring creativity and comic skill.

Oh, I'm so glad a friend/connection/passing acquaintance/bosom buddy or whatever they're called these days, pointed me in this direction! I'd like to propose that Gather just randomly renames every single thing/action on the sight, at unpredictable times that may or may not be related to the phases of the moon or the sun passing through Scorpio, thereby forcing suckers, er, um, members, to go out and explore more, rather than just hanging out with their friend/connection/passing acquaintance/bosom buddy . LOL!
