I was reading a comment left on another thread and I decided to try and google a short story I had written. I put in "How Donuts Saved the Planet Earth" and the first site was me.

Now forgive me if this is something that everyone else knows but I am slow to pick up on. Try googling something of yours and see what happens.

Your "footprints" are out there for eternity. All the SEO (search engines) have spiders that pick up all content on the Web/Internet. In simple terms, they rank you according to how much content youhave out there and position you on page 1 through . . . 1000. Some people actually pay for position on Search pages, such as Google, trying to get ranked at least on the first page of a search. Web 2.0 is where its at now.

I googled my name, "irst, middle iniial and last"and one of my articles on gather showed up as well as two scientific research papers. One I knew about. The other was more recently published by my graduate school advisor. He's still using my research, I guess. Good news for me and I'd never have know about it if I hadn't read your article.
