I can't believe they did it to me! I just can't believe it! My work has done the worst possible thing that they could have ever done. It's so horrible that I can barely think about it without trembling. It's so awful that it is hard to even write about it. My world has been tipped upside down by the actions of the company I work for.
No, they didn't fire me and they didn't write me up for anything. No. This action is worse than either of those two things combined. Yes. Worse. What they did is... oh, this is beyond mean and evil... they've added Gather.com to their banned sites list! Yes, this means that I am blocked from coming to Gather from work! Isn't that the most horrible thing you've ever heard?
Melodramatic? Me? Not much.
I shall greatly miss Gathering during the day hours and now must figure out a way that I can still keep up. My Gather time will now be limited to weekends and nights. Although even my nights are limited because I have college courses two nights a week. This is a real bummer.
Ok, you may go back to your regularly scheduled Gathering. This was a test of the emergency rant system. There's nothing more to see here. Go on about your business... but if you will, please spare one moment of pity for me and think of how my work days will now be dim and Gatherless.

Thanks, Twyla. I appreciate it.
People think Smoking and Alcohol are addictive. Gather is still an undiscovered addiction. Good Luck!
David, I guess I am in good company if you are banned as well. I don't even know why I had access for a little while. I guess they hadn't known about it yet or they were just slow to block it. That's rather amusing that they think it should be classified as a dating site. If that were the case I think my hubby would have figured out a way to block it too! :-)
Thank you, William. I have a solution... I need to start my own business and then I can allow myself access to everything! Haha. Ok, I didn't say it was a practical solution. ;-)
If you don't have anything to do, it must get kind of boring!
Jadan, Kind of boring is an understatement! Going on the internet is the one way to keep sane at work when my mind's ready to go to sleep from lack of mental stimulation.
Jennine, You have a good idea about writing up notes to post each night after I get home. I can email myself articles ideas or what not and when I get home I shall hit Gather in full force. Alas, there isn't any more work to ask for. Our department is going to be transitioning out eventually but as of yet we're not sure when. Rumor has it that it'll be around July. So we're all just sticking around waiting for the date and the monetary offers once they close us down. Meanwhile we have nothing to do. I wouldn't fear them deciding that I'm personally expendable. I do more work than anyone else in the department and so I'm fairly confident that I'll be there until the end.
The powers that be are out to keep me from having fun at work!
