Flight Delayed

I can not believe it!!!!! Everything went great from Iraq to Dallas. He gets to Dallas and it was almost time for his flight and they announced that the plane is sitting in Kansas City!!!!!! And it won't be there until around 9:30 pm. Which means he won't be here until around 10:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was supposed to be here at 7:20. Not only that but they tried to lie to him and tell him it was late because was delayed this morning in Hot Springs because of bad weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on the phone with him as they told him this. He politely told them "That is bull shit!!! I am on the phone with my wife and we live in Hot Springs and there was no bad weather there this morning!!!" Then they started stuttering "oh ummm well ummm". Chances are the plane had some mechanical trouble. Which does not make me feel any better. If we would have known this when he first landed in Dallas at 3pm I could have driven to Dallas and picked him up and been back home before the plane could have got here. But now it's too late to do that.

How frustrating! I would be ticked if I was you. Hang in there. Even though those few hours will seem like eternity, you will still be glad to see him and have a wonderful christmas.

At least you know he's home safe in the states and not somewhere overseas being delayed.

Oh dear! Can he not get on another flight, maybe with another airline? I wish my brother-in-law could help as he is a trainer out there, but he isn't even home. Just hold on. He will get home safe and sound. After all, better late than never!

Thanks everyone. And you are all right, it is just frustrating. I had hunted and found the perfect outfit to go with the perfect boots I had bought. And we were going to go out to dinner. But now that is messed up. He said not to worry about it, we would go out by ourselves one night to dinner and I could wear it then (It's a really pretty long black swishy skirt and a beautiful off-white top) but he said not to dress up just to come get him that late. Besides I think he is gonna be too tired to notice LOL. He is trying to take a nap at the airport so that he will have a little energy LOL

April, funny thing about falling asleep next to him, I have gotten used to sleeping by myself so normally it takes me several nights to get used to him being there again. Normally about the time I get adjusted to him being beside me, it is time for him to leave again.

How wonderful he will be home...take all the time you need to adjust to him being beside you....you have a gift several others do not...who cares if the plane is late...he's home...God Bless you both...!!!

No he can't get on another plane or another airline. Our airport here is a small one. There is only one airline here.

Julie, I'm sorry for your frustration and disappointment. But I work for an airline and can tell you that even though the weather might seem okay outside your window, there may be trouble along the flight path, which the air traffic controller is aware of. If that's the case, then trust the airline for being cautious. If it's mechanical, then trust them to fix the problem and make the aircraft safe. You may not be happy with the delay, but you can take comfort in knowing that safety is their #1 priority and he will be there soon. Best of luck!

Man I sure know how that is....Flight Delay can be such hell... Well anyway, I hope that you are taking this well julie, let us all remember those who are on the road and in the air, because the risks are very high right now with all the traffic. Remember my friend, God causes all things to work together for good Romans 8:28
