NaNoWriMo Cometh

Every November for the last eight years I've participated in NaNoWriMo. This November will be no different for me.

I had a great plot come to me while I was journaling a few weeks ago and I'm going to move on it and create an amazing novel this year. This one is unique; I've never read another novel like it... so I'm guarding the plot closely at this point. All I can tell you is that the main character is named Oja and that for now, that's also the working title.

This year I got a NaNoWriMo novel ready for submissions; I'm very excited about that. It is the novel I wrote in 2001: The Scribe of Irohila.... the first novel in a series of YA adventures.

You can do it Marsha! Don't worry about editing ... just write and write and write. Only 1667 words daily will be enough to win at NaNoWriMo!

Haven't decided if I am in for the self-torture this year or not. Last year didn't work out well for me. I guess I will have to change my attitude if I am going to do NaNoWriMo.

Christine... it definitely IS torture at times, isn't it? But I guess the charge I get from creating a new novel is worth the pain.

Oh, to be sure. Writing, when it works, is the best feeling you can have. When it doesn't is when it's torture. I wish I could just call up that spirit when everything is falling into place.

Word wars on the NaNoWriMo forums keep me moving . . . . on those days I really don't feel like writing. Racing against the clock.
