Hope is not just a simple reaction,
Pain is not just an end result,
Lies have ways of gaining traction,
Truth, a thing that grows remote.
As we wonder motivation,
Can we see past bias and the many fears we tote?
Can we find the path to change this nation?
Or will we just repeat the party lines by rote?
Can we look beyond color and negation?
And truly make this a land of hope?
Only you can find truth to battle lies,
Only you can reject the fear and hate,
Only you can break with a culture of ties,
To the past, and those that foster racism and hate.

The statement, at the end of them all, is "I'm John McCain, and I approved this message" It would appear that by letting that statement stand, the true ethics, truth and honor are owned by the candidate, not just the campaign, or do you subscribe to my view, that this isn't a campaign that McCain controls, and they just want him to be their next talking head they can push out in front of the cameras, while they give us four more years of warfare on the middle and poor classes of this country?
who twice sucked in thousands of right wing Bible beliving Christians. John McCane is no more a maverick that George H W Bush is an intellectual. I have the secret suspician that the RNC knows that they can't win in November so they put up McCane and Palin as a bouble barreled Hail Mary as a last gasp at energising aka sucking in their base.
John McCain has the voice, last I heard he could talk, to disclaim them, and he has not. Leaving this lying a**hole the cover that he has no control is not only giving him way more credit than he deserves, at this point, but apologizing for not censoring something he DOES have control over. He didn't have to hire a Rove disciple, and he doesn't have to run negative, lying ads, he chooses to, because, as he has admitted, he isn't running for his ideals, his goal is to satisfy his own ambition. I ran an article on that yesterday. Apparently the Easter bunny lives, and he's a lying sack of S**t, John, and you need to admit to yourself the truth......
Love it!
Love it!
I . . . absolutely . . . LOVE IT!!!
On the other hand it strikes me that by letting the politics bleed over into an area that, I at least always thought of as a form of creative decompression and expression for you (your poetry) could backfire on you...
In other words, please don't let the politics take over your whole life, it's bad for your blood pressure!
and then the Vikings, then the Puritans
and then the waves on waves on waves of lost and lonely Big Gold dreamers came,
and Liberty's torch keyed into their lifelines
and someone on Wall Street invented the fake "American Dream" to market to poor folk
planetwide.
My son came back from Iraq and said "It's time for McCain to quit talking about the stuff he did
in Vietnam. It's over."
He said, "A lot of the military are voting for Barack. They're tired of trying to change a country that's thousands of years old, into America. It won't work."
I wonder if Liberty will light a little candle for my son
and all the other sons and daughters needing someone to be honest about D.U. equipment:
that "Gulf War Syndrome" is actually radiation sickness.
I wonder if Liberty might consider lighting up a smudge-stick, too,
and waving it over this land
in a great purification ceremony.
McCain has repeated the phrase, "We came to Washington to change Washington, but Washington changed us." It probably did. So why would we vote for such a man who has been changed so much by the corruption of Washington???
