No, historically when the party in power is in trouble, the other party gets a huge bounce after their convention. I cited Carter and Clinton for that reason. Support for Obama is shaky at best if it can be affected by a vice presidential nomination ( I thought the left didn't think she would be a factor). Nice try for your guy though.
