Well kids it's time to really pay attention to our world or else get out of it.
According to Yahoo news, McCain addresses Russia with subtle threats about their current actions in newly Democratic state of Georgia.
"John McCain appeared before cameras this morning to offer a lengthy primer on the crisis in the Caucasus, explain why it matters to America and outline steps that he thinks the U.S. and West should take to halt the violence."
He said: "Working with allied partners, the U.S. should immediately consult with the Ukrainian government and other concerned countries on steps to secure their continued independence."
Here is the story.
I am sorry what? Can we afford the financial, human, and international repercussions of threatening to mess with Russia's plans to liberate one small territory of Georgia?? I can't believe he is making speeches that imply actions that I can't imagine any of our citizens would want to engage in. My only hope is that this helps set back his numbers for the upcoming (OMG OBAMA BETTER WIN OR I'M MOVING TO EUROPE) Presidential election.
In another article on Yahoo News, it seems that what many other nations outside of China were watching on their television broadcasts of the Opening Ceremonies for this year's Olympics may have been edited or 'faked'.
"The faked fireworks were actually set-off at the stadium, but because of potential dangers in filming the display live from a helicopter, viewers at home were shown a pre-recorded, computer-generated shot. It sounds dishonest, but I'm not sure it's such a terrible thing."
Again, I have to say What?? It's not that important? Can China really control all the world's media? What else is happening there that we can or can't see? No big deal, it is just one of the most televised and most viewed broadcasts in the history of world television. Luckily for us, we can't say anything because they own us.
More on the fireworks, here.

Knowing what I know about China (which isn't much, but having visited there more than once at least have a passing knowledge greater than most Americans), the accusation isn't out of the realm of something they would do. But I think I'll wait until I hear more concurrence and detail from other sources before worrying too much about it. In the end, I really don't think it means a whole lot (it's just TV - 99% of what we watch on TV is fake - and that's just the "reality" shows).
Thanks for posting to Political Futures
When it comes to McCain, he is trying to show he is presidential material - personally I think he is acting like Bush would. Do we need another 4 years of that? I don't think so.
Things in the political world just seem to be getting worse
Hillary at least had some sense of the Whitehouse.
The US can not afford any more conflicts it seems we are spread too thin as it is.
Our economy is suffering...
Our moral is suffering..
Our Military is suffering.
The list goes on.
Great article Sarah. Thanks for sharing it with us.
