The only way in which it may be on the right track is increased voter interest, but I have seen that before and the newly interested voters became non-participating cynics when the first candidate they ever supported did not get elected. It was symptomatic of what I believe has become an even larger societal problem, the expectation of near immediate gratification. It now reaches into virtually every aspect of our lives.
