Just in on CNN....in the month of August, the civilian death count in Iraq topped 8,000 far surpassing the even 100 a day average for the past few preceeding months. Meanwhile, he is on the airwaves telling us the WAR IS GOING WELL, we have things under control.
What do you think...does this statistic sound like we are WINNING THE WAR?

War is not and will not be the answer, despite what some think.

Consider these shocking facts:
• Found: 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium
• Found: 1,500 gallons of chemical weapons
• Found: Roadside bomb loaded with sarin gas
• Found: 1,000 radioactive materials--ideal for radioactive dirty bombs
• Found: 17 chemical warheads--some containing cyclosarin, a nerve agent five times more powerful than sarin

August 2005 Update: Chemical weapons factory found in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul
Iraq had two Ballistic Missile programs which were in violation of the UN, the al-Samoud Two and the al-Fatah. The Al Samoud missiles are ballistic missiles capable of going 180K. Iraq was not allowed to have missiles that could go beyond 150K, therefore, Iraq was in violation of the UN and international law. These weapons represented an ongoing WMD program in violation of the UN and cease fire agreements.
In Iraq, the coalition forces have found WMDs in the form of Sarin a deadly nerve agent, in weapons the UN never cataloged. (The UN, in all of their years of inspections, never found these munitions). Over a dozen of these WMD Sarin shells have been found in Iraq. Each WMD Sarin shell was capable of killing hundreds, if not thousands, of people. Each shell could have been another 9/11 if they fell into the wrong hands.
In Iraq, the coalition forces have found WMDs in the form of Mustard Gas, a deadly chemical agent, in weapons that Saddam's regime had declared have been destroyed. The UN did not find these munitions. Iraq declared that it had been destroyed after the Gulf War. The Iraqi government lied. These Mustard Gas WMDs, when stored properly, are capable of killing hundreds, if not thousands of people.
In Iraq, the coalition forces have found highly specialized WMD components necessary in the production of Nuclear weapons. The WMD weapon component was a centrifuge used to enrich uranium for use in Nuclear weapons. Oh... and let's not forget that we found and removed uranium from Iraq 2 tons of low-enriched uranium and approximately 1,000 highly radioactive items were removed. The spin from the left was that the uranium was not enriched, and that the uranium posed no threat... but Saddam had a centrifuge with which to enrich the uranium hidden in a scientist's back yard... Make no mistake, Saddam, if unchecked, would have continued to work on his nuclear aspirations. The uranium and the centrifuge ARE components necessary for making the ultimate WMD.
Outside of Iraq, the UN has been finding WMD components and machinery used in the production of WMDs that have been shipped off to foreign junkyards, sold as scrap, both after and immediately prior to the war in Iraq. This reeks of cover-up by Saddam loyalists who are probably still operating in the same capacity today in Iraq.
Outside of Iraq, in Jordan specifically, chemical weapons which came from Iraq, through Syria, were found in the hands of terrorists.

That's 8000 as a low ball estimate based on the provisional government's data. The true number is estimate to be twice that but there are places "the folks in Baghdad" dare not enter (like to the East, North, South, and West).
But that's probably accurate for Baghdad...
First: The death toll will skyrocket. I believe that anyone who is even suspected of assisting the American "devils" will be dealt with similarly to the way the "killing fields" in Cambodia were operated after the fall of Saigon. 8,000 will become several million.
Second: The Extremest Muslims will have proof that they can beat us, and what is happening in the middle east will begin occurring in downtown Omaha. Jane Fonda and John Kerry showed the world how to beat America during Vietnam. If our opponents are patient, they will win. If we leave the middle east, Allah will call for the destruction of hometown backwater USA. Then what? Driving a couple airplanes into tall building requires a lot of training and perparation. Walking into a church or school with a bomb requires one zealot, and they have plenty to spare.
And Finally: If we pull out, we will disgrace every serviceman and servicewoman who gave their life, or came back severely handicapped. What happened to the military after Vietnam?
So we're not allowed to win, and we can't stomach the "occupation".
I have very strong feelings about this. I hate this war, but I think George (who I dispise) did the right thing. 911 is too easily forgotten. The Iranian Hostage Crisis is too easily forgotten, The French Rail Bombing is too easily forgotten, The American Embassy Bombings are too easily forgotten. We want to fight over there, not here.
Everytime there is a war, innocent people get killed. We show our enemies courtesy even in death, we allow thier burial according to their religious beliefs, our enemies deficate on our dead.
I have a solution, but we are not allowed to use it, we are the good guys.

I am not saying we should leave Iraq, but I will say that Bush and Rumsfeld HAVE NO CLUE......remember MISSION ACCOMPLISHED? Rumsfeld wanting to fight the war on the cheap, putting our troops in a situation of not having enough feet on the ground to win the peace.
It was announced today (quietly) that there will be no troop withdraw/reductions this year, nor next. If we are going to win this war, we have to stop tying our troops hands, just like we did back in the days of Vietnam. You want to win a war, you first have to have OVER WHELMING FORCE on the ground, and you cannot stop fighting until the opposition has SURRENDERED. We need to forget about everything in Iraq except WINNING THE WAR....no rebuilding projects, no winning the hearts of the people.....I'd rather have them fearing us, and see the fighting end and the terrorists leave the nation than what we have now. Once you establish Marshall Law, you can go about rebuilding Iraq, and winning their support.
Cleric Sadr was a perfect example...we had him and his militia corner in a Mosque....if it meant bombing that Mosque to Kingdom Come, we should have done it to TAKE HIM OUT. Now he is stronger,has more troops, and we still need to take him out. Let's END THIS POLICE ACTION, and go start kicking serious ASS...that, and only that will end the insurgency.

I have been to the middle east as a US soldier. I have seen the truth, and it is not what the media would have you believe. We are doing well in Iraq and Afghanistan. The extremists are the ones killing innocents. Not us. Not me, not my friend who I watched get killed, not my other friend who I watched loose his legs in an IED. See what happens. When the coalition and soldiers you can't stand rescue you, and bring you back to America, then I'll listen to what you have to say. I don't know how we can fight a war without even slapping the enemy? Do you guys let our government fight the war? I would love to see a delegation of these so called peace mongers go to these nations and come up with a solution to all the problems. Dare to? They will not even send your dead bodies back home. You want negotiations? Who is stopping you from doing that? We will be happy to have a resolution with out war. Who want to stand up?
