No.....the world is not ending.
However my world is changing in 4 tiny days.....
3 last days of navy blue scrubs.... which I will retire for at least 6 months following graduation
1 last day of whites with a patch.... funny thing...I bought a shirt and put a patch because I didn't want to go to graduation with a uniform that actually SHOWS the wear and tear I put it through
4 last days of my dysfunctional but well loved family... of nursing students. We are so different but we share this experience...I know that I may never see some of them again and I get sad.
1 more project..... Which I actually enjoyed doing. It is called the Professional Image of Nursing. I may have to post it next week.
1 more test..... (not including the NCLEX....the BIG one)
Maybe 1 or 2 more ERIs.... Just the thought of taking another ERI is repulsive.....but those days are soon to be over. BUT let me say THANK YOU to Ms. Connie Domino......who looks and sounds just like Judy Tenuta. You made really dry subject interesting. I apologize for falling asleep. I thank you for not calling me out. I didn't get the chance to tell you that a lot of us were coming off of 8 and 12 hour back to back shifts in addition to working. At clinicals we are moving around.....staying still isn't good for us. But you treated us so kindly. AND I think I actually retained!!!!!
4 last days of Nursing School Chronicles... What will I call the next chapter? I cannot know but am open to suggestion
No more days of..... OH GOD not a Nursing Student! (insert large sigh or eye roll). I will exchange it for OH GOD not an orientee!!!
It is all so exciting and I have to thank you all for taking this journey with me. I have had you all with me all the way. You all make me a better nurse, a better person. And I am so grateful....I don't even have the words..... and for me to be speechless. You KNOW that is a miracle.

ERIs are modern day torture device that some lucky nursing students are subjected to during their student nurse days. It is fraught with misspellings, bugs, and zero feedback. After taking the plethora of tests that caused many a tear and gnashing of the teeth, they give you the book and a great instructor. You feel incredibly 'toopid, and you start doing better on them when it is almost too late. They say it is like the NCLEX but it is so not.....therefore.....the poor penniless nursing student after licensing fees, NCLEX fees, fees for breathing air......and other things like that has to plunk down about $400 for the Kaplan review. Oh yea....did I mention that is the discount?
John O. perfect and true.........the End of Days almost but they got a divorce. :(
I heart ERIs can you tell?
But despite all that there are wonderful, great days, great patients, witnessing of miracles, wonderful things.......and Nippy....that is why I love it too.
Thank you Wade. Believe me there are more better than me. But thank you !
we love ya and are HONORED to have had you share all this with us.. I have lived with four (different) Nurses, two of which went for their RN caps while being with me... [THEY had ambition]. and I have a small idea of what you have gone thru.
be PROUD lady... you've earned it
Lloyd
