I work fulltime and go to school full time. Eating fast food and snack machine fodder not only puts on pounds, but it is unhealthy and expensive. Not to mention the choices are empty sugar, empty carbs, and you know what that leads to.....a sleepy student/worker.
This sounds like an infomercial.....
Anyway. I bought a lunch box to combat snack machine hell.
These are my top ten favorite food snacks.....what are yours
1 - yogurt
(i like all kinds but my favorite is Brown Cow Cream on top yogurt)
2 - Nuts of different kinds
(Cashews, peanuts, shelled sunflower)
3 - PBJ on whole grain bread
(Curbs the hungries, tastes great, keeps you up)
4 - Dark Chocolate
I need some sugar....but dark chocolate 70 cacao and above are healthy....try it with blueberries or cranberries....sounds bad, tastes good.
5 - apple
An apple is good and good for you.
6 - celery and carrots
7 - Cracklin Oat Bran
Almost tastes too good. But it does look like dog food. But it does taste better.....especially in yogurt
8 - Smoked Turkey
I know the rumors.....but I haven't had a problem
9 - Cheese!
Any kind except the "wholly" one for me
10 - popcorn....mmm

Oh the tryptophan in turkey is supposed to make you sleepy. I haven't had that problem.....now if I sat down to a turkey meal....zzz city

I have a weird job that makes it difficult to eat at regular hours, and my favorite quick snack is always hard-boiled eggs. They're easy to make, easy to carry around, and as someone who tends to have "I'm going to kill someone now" blood sugar crashes, protein is a good stabilizer.
