chicken noodle soup
chicken parts (enough to get 2 lbs chicken, cubed or shredded) - 32 points
2 cups carrots, sliced - 1 point
1 cup celery, thinly sliced - 0 points
1 onion, diced - 0 points
chopped parsley - 0 points
8 oz whole wheat egg noodles - 12 points
salt, pepper, and sage to taste - 0 points
1 can mixed vegetables - 3.5 points
add chicken, carrots, celery, parsley, and onion to a large pan or stock pot. cover with water. bring to a boil and let simmer for an hour or so. remove chicken and allow to cool enough to handle safely. remove meat from bones and chop or shred. return to pan. bring back to a boil. add mixed vegetables and noodles, adding more water if needed. simmer until noodles are done, and add salt, pepper, and sage (and any other seasoning you might like) to taste.
