Important endorsement for health care

It wont matter to the Party of No. Glad to see the AARP backs it but we have too many politicians with their hands in the Insurance Companies back pockets. Hopefully I am wrong, but I still dont see it passing.

AARP sells insurance. That concerns me.

It is a good deal for the Insurance companies, it does not take them out of the business, and it does keep them involved with Medicare as well. The fact they are included may be the only way to get that vital Public Option into the mix. The public option will be available to about 120 million Americans, and that is about a third of the population it is also the people who are Not served or badly served by the health insurance industry.

Check carefully, the Public option will absorb many, if not all of the people who are presently insured by high risk insurance because of their medical histories. It promises to make the private insurance industry even more profitable at least in the short run.

AARP is just a hack corporation that helped Bush privatize medicare and raise the cost.

The AARP is also going around the country doing some basic health screenings at Walgreens. I'm wonder though, how is this endorsement going to affect their membership? The Medicare benefit wasn't too well received by seniors, was it?

Their membership has been dropping for several months now, those against reform. AARP has been a proponent for health care reform and they have been working fairly hard at seperating truth from fiction for their readers.

I attended the AARP endorsed health care plan called United Health Care this morning. We had Health Net and found out they were going to start charging a monthly premium on top of the amount taken automatically from our SS checks every month. So far, United Health Care has not raised any rates, it still has the Medicare D drug plan but at least, all our medications are included. Not so Health Net. The donut hole is less attractive this year, but so it is in every other plan.

It seems the best available plan here in Pima County, AZ for the moment. Next year may be different. At least, the Public Option puts us one step closer to a universal health plan which this country desperately needs. We must get all insurance companies completely out of health care ASAP!

What part of this cut in Medicare will be a good thing Elsie?

There won't be any cuts. You read and listen to the wrong things, Col. FOX and the right wing stations and newspapers are telling you lies.

Even the Liberal press is saying this bill is junk Elsie. It is 2000 pages + now and still growing. Pelosi wants it voted on tomorrow night. It is designed to fail because it allows govenment paid abortions and illegals medical care. She will not get the Blue Dogs or any Democrat from the South to vote for it because it will cost them their jobs. Yes it will cut Medicare since it all but eliminates the Medicare advantage plan, although I don't have it a lot of people do.
