Remember the post I wrote earlier about work and some of the stuff going on that I made earlier this week. Well, this post is sort of related to it. Last night on the news and then this morning in the newspaper, there was one story in particular that really made me sick. Three teenage boys have been bullying these teenage girls since the beginning of the school. Much of the bullying seems to have occurred on the bus. Threats were given, fear was used and that is just the tip of the iceberg. These boys were sexually touching girls, spray cans as flame throwers, exposing their genitals to the girls, touching their breasts. What forced one of the girls to speak up? One of the boys tried to force the face of one of the girls into another boy's exposed genitals. Now get this, the boys are 16, 17, and 17 years old. They are old enough to know not to do this, and yet they did. According to the newspaper, two o the boys are on detention and the other boy is under house arrest. They face a number of charges from criminal recklessness, harassment, sexual battery, disorderly conduct, intimidation, and public indecency. None of the other students on the bus came forward because they were scared. There is even a question of them possibly being charged as adults.
Now for my two cents, I don't think that I could serve on this jury. Although, I am very anxious to see the outcome of this situation. Already people are commenting on one of the local newspaper's websites about how we should be angry at the parent's of these boys. Well, maybe we should be. Should we be mad at the parents of a grown adult who commits any one of these acts? It's true that parent's might be at fault on some level. Kids need to know that they come forward with any problem. For this to have gone on since September is a real issue. Don't you think? It's staggering that the driver didn't have any idea. Though as someone else has already pointed out, maybe he or she didn't know what was being carried out on his or her bus. All I can say is I hope these girls can overcome this bullying and I hope these boys are punished and not slapped on the wrist. I hate bullies. Parents need to tell their kids to speak up when there is a problem. Kids need to know those people who are there to protect them. It shouldn't come down to almost 6 months of torture before someone had too much.
What would have happened if she had brought a weapon to school to end it? She would have been enemy and rightfully so. Still, one has to wonder what made these teens carry out such offensive acts on their schoolmates. It really blows my mind. Now you don't that the step-father of the girl who came forward stepped in. I give that man a big high five for standing up for his daughter. Hopefully she'll be okay!
My heart goes out to her and all those students who suffered because of these boys.
Also one last note:
I wanted to say how sorry I am to those who lost loved ones, friends, family members to the plane crash in Buffalo.
My heart cries out to the people of Australia also best wishes to you and your country as you heal from those fires.

Growing up I was the youngest child of 9. My parents NEVER drank, and taught us that being drunk was wrong. That said, I still have 2 brothers who are alcoholics. That was not/is not my parents fault. How could it be?
I have 4 children myself, 2 of which are biPolar. It doesn't matter what I teach them, they have a free will and the ability to decide for themselves what their actions will be.
Unless those boys are mentally retarded, they are old enough, and have been for years, to know what they were doing was wrong. They should be punished for what they have done, not their parents.
sounds like they might grow up to be rapist
