Be forwarned, this article could take on a couple of directions before I am done. As I wrote the title, I was thinking more about an adult I know and then, I began to think about how that statement applies to my career as a teacher too.
As many of you know, I am not a religious girl in the sense of organized religion. There are many reasons for this, but it doesn't mean that I don't have Christian beliefs as I do. I spent many years attending church and I know much about the topic although not as much as some. Regardless, over the years I have known many different types of people. There are those that are Christian and feel the need to tell you constantly not only that they are Christian, but what it is they think that means and what it is they think everyone should do in any and every situation. Then, there are those that lead by example and ALMOST, but not quite make me want to reconsider the idea of being a practicing Christian. You know the type, the ones that are just plain good and decent people. They don't worry about other people's decisions and as much as they can, they let their faith guide them. You see it without them feeling they have to SAY it. I hold a high, high respect for this type of person. I had an aunt that was like this and I currently work with people of both types.
Why am I telling you this today? I have no idea except this topic has been on my mind a great deal in the past couple of months....and I wanted to share some thoughts. I am not looking for confirmation of these thoughts or even for anyone out there to agree or disagree with it, I am just trying to sort it all out I suppose. So, thanks for reading...feel free to comment....and either way whether in religion or otherwise, I hope that you are someone that LEADS BY EXAMPLE....the world can use a lot more people like that....

I am much more likely to be drawn to a person that has a life and character that I respect and want to emulate or at least find out what got them there. I want their peace with the world.
Five out of hundreds.
I try to lead by example, but am forever sickened by the human condition, especially lying, my own pet peeve.
Oh, and anyone who embraces Christ? In my book IS a christian.
