Okay, first I want you all to know, I love kids! But I do feel kids should be supervised, up to a point. There is an age where you begin letting them do more without supervision, but toddlers are not at that age.
And, yes, I know kids are quick. Many must have some speed gene that makes one wonder if they are distant relatives to "Flash Gordon". But the problem arises when the parents of that speed demon seems to have to genetics of a snail. The two don't mix.
Oh, and then there are those parents who have this metal comtraption, called a cell phone, glued to their ear. (I have one, too, so I should talk). But in some cases, there seems to be a correlation between having a cell phone to their ear and blindness.
Or, those parents who are just in their own world.
Here's an example. My aunt went for blood work because she wasn't feeling well. As if that wasn't bad enough, she gets a call from the lab asking her to return. Of course, she is worried what might have been wrong with her blood, but they assure her that wasn't the problem.
They had to retest everyone who'd had blood work done that day for AIDS because a child got into the red bio hazard container. I'm sorry, but I lose my patience with parents like that.
However, I know I'm not being fair. It's been a long time since my own kids were toddlers, so I forget how difficult it can be. However, I was so paranoid someone would think I was a bad mother I usually was over protective.
Yet, as my memories return, so is the fear a mother has when her child has wandered away. Maybe I am being judgemental. Maybe the fault isn't all the parents, it's a society who doesn't help when they see someone struggling. Who is afraid to get involved.
Or, maybe in the case of the blood lab, they should have had the container with bio hazards out of reach of children.
What do you think?

Yes I'm already annoyed at parents for that, but in the case of the bloodlab, I think the blame is 50-50.
