Today hasn't been going quite like I planned. It's a cool, sunny day. I needed to go to a nearby city to take something to my niece at her office, pick up something from a freecycler and visit my mother. I couldn't find my cell phone. It had the numbers on it, so it was necessary to have to reach the people I needed to see.
I got online to hunt for some addresses and numbers I needed. My Swagbucks wasn't working since we'd changed the email address in the merger.
I took my son to work. The regular place my son eats was so crowded people were to the door, so I had to drop him off somewhere else. I went into the grocery store, did a little shopping and managed to get overcharged for something while I was retrieving a peel off coupon the cashier had missed. I go outside and some lazy mother had left one of those big carts behind my car and the car next to me. I've never understood the selfishness of people who leave their carts to block parking spaces rather than walk the 20 steps or less to put the cart where it belongs. This lazy mother was so selfish that she didn't care that one of the drivers would have to move her cart to get out of the space. Wonder what she's teaching her children about picking up after themselves? Normally I just worry about a shopping cart putting dings in people's cars. Those heavy child movers could put a dent in a car easily.
I stop at a long light, decide to turn on the radio and get honked at for not preceeding when the light changed. (it doesn't help me feel any better to have deserved the honk)
Murphy's Law keeps striking me. On the way home, traffic is backed up a bit, so my Denton trip is put off again.
I put my coffee maker on to make tea and my toaster oven to broil my chicken. When I don't hear the coffee maker's noises, I discover it's off. Silly me must have turned it off. Ten minutes later, it's off again. The circuit protector is clicking off after a few minutes. Apparently I can do one at time only in that outlet with the surge protector.
Hungry, I open the snack box I bought for my son. The snacks are about 2/3 the size they were only a few months ago. They raised the price and made the snack smaller both. Shouldn't have eaten them, so, of course, I had 6.
Still hungry as I'm waiting for my chicken to cook, I come to Gather and visit some really bad photos. Is it just me? Others were saying "good photo" on blurred, cut off heads, too dark, poses where you couldn't see any faces, etc. I've been spoiled here. Always before the pictures have been so sharp and the sights interesting. These were the repetitive types like a child with a first camera does. I'm ready to go back to the ones that are like a mini-vacation for me. Not the ones so bad they look like I did them. The points were nice though, so I'm going back to look at some more.
About the time I wonder why I'm being so grumpy about all these little things, I realize it's Monday. Mondays are supposed to be crappy this way. So, I can worry about whether we'll have television tomorrow or how we can get the new converter box to change channels to record shows. It's Monday, out of sorts day. I'm not ranting, I'm just going with the Monday tradition..
Smells like my chicken is done. I suspect that having lunch (it's after 5:30 pm now) will cure my Monday blues.

I just wrote a post about the photographs that I've been seeing lately here on Gather, too, especially the repetitive ones where they post the same thing over and over for 100 times. I didn't want to say it in my post, but, yes, a lot of them were dark and out of focus, too.
Saying hello from comment speedway.
Have a nice day.. =)
Even if it had been the regular cart, the person who has to pick up after them could well be an older person with bad knees, a bad back and a bad ankle-like me. The other guy blocked in came up in a walker.
TA! TA!
Thank you for sharing.
