Incorrect Ads at Rite Aid

The circular for my local Rite Aid is featuring a sale on the GE 6-outlet power strip. However, the picture that goes with this offer shows a GE 6-outlet SurgePro surge protector.

When I got to the register, the SurgePro pictured in the circular was not on sale. The store employee said that they would only go by the "words" (as opposed to the pictures), even though "sometimes we may have typos in the words too."

So either way, they win. If you have this item on your Rite Aid shopping list because you see the picture on the circular, don't be fooled. I hate when the stores don't proofread their ads.

I am too lazy to take a digital picture of the hard copy circular, so I just took a screen shot of the online circular, which is the same.

That's really sad. It's horrible when they make you think one thing is going to be on sale and it turns out to be something else. I've stopped reading those ads...

Rite Aid is famous for the Bait and Switch I won't set foot in one even if they are giving things away free.

All of our Eckerd's are now Rite Aids and I don't even bother with them.

Most places (at least here) have to honor their ads- even if they made a mistake- after all it is THEIR mistake...and it saves people from being ticked off!

That reminds me. Our bank misprinted an ad for the interest rate for a new CD, but they still honored it.

They "should have" honored it... but they didn't and they don't. I talked to the store employee and manager right then right there, and they didn't care. I emailed Rite Aid corporate, and they only sent me back a canned reply and asked me to make sure the item I wanted to purchase matched the ad. That was not helpful at all.

that's horrible! Whatever happened to "the customer is always right" or at least trying to make your customers happy. Hell, it was their mistake, they should have honored the sale price.

I don't shop at Rite Aid. They are way too high priced here. I can get the same things at Target or Wal-Mart for way less money.

They should have honored it. I had something similar happen to me at Super Fresh and I walked out and left the order sitting there.
