How do you do it?

Ok, I admit I am a newbie Gatherer, lol. In the beginning I was merely in it for the points, then I spent a few hours on this site and started to get connected with people, their views,their lives, etc. And now I am hooked. Shoot I normally spend hours on other sites(that really I should be doing now, lol) but find some reason to pop on Gather just for a minute and wind up on here for an hour. lol. How do you do it all? I guess if I had DSL it wouldn't be so bad, but with dial up it sucks trying to load a lot of pages. I think I am becoming a Gather holic!

I suspect you are not the only gather-holic here! I came here in February to read an article someone had written about fellow Alabamian, Taylor Hicks...I was in the hospital in Spring and didn't get back into gather until a few months ago. I still don't understand the point system...is it explained anywhere? LOL...I don't even care about the points, while there is a lot of self-promotion here, there is also phenomenal content! It's one of the smartest groups I've ever found on the 'Net!

Yeah the point system is indeed interesting. I find that the games are completely fun, and the kind words from people are priceless.

My Gather account sat dormant for a whole year before I started connecting and
writing. I didn't know anything about points until began accumulating them.

I only joined yesterday and cannot believe the amount of timeI 've spent posting on fun games and recipe ideas etc. I'm scard - this is kindof getting to be an addiction - is there a cure - should I seek counseling? ALso, how do you make conections it's very confusing. Thanks!!!

You can click on the person's picture that will take you to their page on the left hand side there should be an orange box that says connect.

I'm fairly new to this site too evven though I've been a member a long time I never logged in. I'm embarassed to say I had no idea what to do or that you could trade your points . Now I'm getting the hang of it but spending WAT too much time here lol

Im a total gather holic too. I usually host a chat every night too. So watch for it and come on over...its usually pretty late tho.
