Forgiveness
I suffer so deeply with pain inside ,
I can only imagine the day the pain will subside.
My tears from yesterday roll down my face ,
If only the memories would disappear without a trace.
I dream of the day that I smile within.
I dream of the day that my heart will mend.
I love him so much it's hard to explain ,
how I go on when I endured so much pain.
We've come a long way since those horrible days.
Now he holds me so close to his heart with so much praise.
The pain is so strong even though it was in the past.
I sometimes feel the pain is here to last ,
Forgiving him , fills my heart,
although forgetting is tearing me apart ,
I know he loves me more than anything ,
and for this reason I will forever wear his ring.

But at the same time which way the poem is expressing inner pain has a some kind of hidden guilt feeling is leading and providing you this pain! This guilt feeling is not related with any sin like thing or step but what ever issues and era you have passed through and suffering felt by both of you is deeply related and rooted in you and coming again and again with such expression in your poems!
It is a poetically expressed pain and one can apreciate that as an expression surely! I also do the same ... but dsome how i am grasping from poem that this pain should be remove from it's root (as a healer I grasped this) so that you can give a promise to yourself that
'I dream of the day that I smile within.
I dream of the day that my heart will mend.'
as you said in your this poem as a hope ... become true ...
PAIN... IS IT SYNOMOUS WITH LOVE AND AFFECTION?...
I WONDER WHY WOMEN KNEW SO MUCH ABOUT PAIN...
PAIN... HOPE ONE NIGHT YOU YOURSELF FIND LOVE'S PLEASURES AND FROM A OPEN DAY'S LOVE SIMPLE SUBSTANTIAL DELIGHTS...
A TOUCHING AND INTIGUING POEM...
PAIN... AN OPEN WOUND TOUCH BY A LIQUID LEMONADE...
OR... A GIRL PLAYING HER TRICK IN THE SKATING RINK...
PAIN...A MEMORY LOST FOREVER IN SPACE, TIME, AND AGE...
OR...A PERSON COURTING BEAUTY GIVEN BY THE BLINK...
''I was move-by your poem so as treat... created one for yoU''
Robin, it's not easy to trust from within a tormented heart, but you show here that you will give it your best shot...blessings & a bit o' sunshine!
