People who hurt us

Deserve our thoughts and prayers

Because they hurt too.

 

There has been a lot of hurt on Gather in the past weeks and most of us want it to stop.  Maybe that hurt stops with us and our prayers.  Stop to think about those who have said and written hurtful things about others and pray for them to find healing in the hurt they are feeling.

Unfortunately since I am fairly new here I haven't yet noticed any hurt on Gather. But since there is, I don't understand why there has to be. Aren't we supposed to be friends in this community united by common interest, and the passion for writing? Aren't we supposed to help, support, and incourage each other rather than hurt, and bruise? I say those people that inflict any kind of pain on others here in the universe of Gather should be banished from this site. They are not worthy of this privelege.

People who are rude and thoughtless need our prayers the most since they are hurting way more than we know inside and this is the way they express their pain. It somehow makes them feel better. It's sad that they didn't learn the Golden Rule as a child. As grandmom always said, think before you speak, and in this day and age, by all means, think before you hit that "post" button.

All, I am new to Gather so fortunately I have not been exposed to rudeness or unkindness. Thanks for the wise words, Audrey. I strive to live by Christian principles every day and it is comforting to see that many of my new Gather friends do too.
