Where I Am From
I am from two loving parents
My mother image, my father’s athletic skill
I come from many places
Sometimes confusing
98.6 degrees and chilled to the bone
I come from chaos
From the askew sun bursting brilliant sunlight from my chest
Singing raindrops, talking birds, and renewed life
All preambles before the destruction
Left by the twisting of the passing tornado swiftly through the night
I come from normalcy
From the stillness that embraces the silence
Love absorbed from the ones around me
Bitterness from the sin of my flaws
Bleeding wounds inflicted from the past
Today I come from darkness
That comes and goes like a devil dressed in black
It takes pleasure in its emotional rape and slowly cutting my heart from my chest
I come from miss fired neurons and slowly decaying flesh
From loneliness
Where I come from tomorrow, I do not know
I do know I come from hope and faith
I come from goodness and compassion
From the Lord above
I ask him and everyone to forgive me if I have ever wronged you
I come from silliness and sarcasm
From beauty and ugliness
I come from fear and courage
From truth and lies
Ecstasy and desolation
I come from a family embodied in gold
From a circle of shielding arms sheltering me
Blessed

Atticus, thank you for the wonderful comment. Yes, this was a very personal poem. I tried to disengage when writing it but found that I was not able. Thank you again.
Marilyn, thanks for reading, the kind words, and being a friend.
What you showed in this was the strength you have to fight this battle and the beautiful soul that helps you to do so!
From beauty and ugliness
I come from fear and courage
From truth and lies
Ecstasy and desolation"
This is a wonderfully written verse, and it applies to most os, no? Well done, Serina.
This is powerfully touching and revealing. You know where you are now and have shining hope for the morrow. Your head is high within your demons.
