First of all, Americans don't care about solving the problem of Terrorism. They care about killing as many people as possible as revenege for 9/11. I'm not a supporter of Osama Bin Laden, but I am no supporter of Bush either. No one wants to hear what I have to say, but I'm in a bad mood so I'll say it anyways. You cannot simply kill off terrorism , we will fail. It's quite simple really Americans think that there is a limited number of terrorists, that they are simply confined to Islamic Extremists. Reality Check terrorists hate the United States because we are evil, but not because the Quran says we are evil or because we are not Islamic and it is not simply confined to a few radical supporters. It is every person in the world with no livlihood because the United States took it from them. They hate us because we took away their lives these people are not stupid. They know that the United States is a root cause of their economic strife, they have been used by American oil companies, and now American bombs destroy their families.
Supposedly, America has killed at least 30,000 innocent Iraqis to date. What do you think the survivors do, praise the United States for liberating them from Saddam or proclaim them as evil for destroying their families and then desire revenege? Well, I think they have reaccted the same way that Americans acted after 9/11. However, it gets better, is the U.S. heling these homeless, hopeless people are we taking care of them? Of course not, so who do they turn to? Perhaps friends of the families, but its more likely taht they seek the comfort of these terrorist organizations that promise to give them revenge. We call them terrorists, but Middle Easterners call them freedom fighters.
People HATE us, they despise us, and they find us heartless. Gee? I wonder why, what did we ever do to them, besides destroy their livlihood, their families, and show them the most sincerest apathy man can give. If you want to solve terrorism, it wont be with guns because for every man we kill we make ten more terrorists. Reports in Iraq show the violence is getting WORSE not better, well of course any one of us would most likely do the same as those terrorists if we were put into that hopeless situation.
Terrorism was began by some radical men, who for some reason or other hated the United States most likely because of some personal grievance. Terrorism did not simply form over night, and it wont be solved in a day. This is a horrible situation and American soldiers are dieing daily in Iraq in vain because nothing is getting solved and nothing will. These people don't need a government, they need a reason to live. If America really wants to solve and win the war on terrorism why not give them a reason to love us instead of a reason to hate. If you wonder why they hate us so much watch a movie like Syriana or maybe we should jsut ask.
Fighting fire with fire doesnt solve anything it only creates a cycle of suffering and death. However, Americans want their revenge they want their eye for an eye one dead Christian America is worth at least Fifteen dead Muslims. We need to protect ourselves, yes. However, we need to stop shooting and killing them and we need to show them that we actaully care about them as a people and not simply about their oil wells. The only way to defeat terrorism is to do the impossible to love your enemy because I guarentee you that terrorism will slowly die the new generation as more sympathetic Muslims will arise, and these people are religious and if we show them a reason to not hate us, they won't. Their Holy Book forbids it. However, this is an almos impossible dream for America because we are so good at killing and creating terrorists, why stop now? We're chasing a bloody and endless cycle that will lead to many more attacks and many more innocent deaths on both sides. it is all around the world not just in Iraq, someone has to stop this cycle and it probably won't be them. We've been fighting terrorism since 2001, and very little progress has been made. Yea sure we caught a couple and killed a couple more, but how many have we created? How many are now training waiting for an oppurtunity to strike back against the true dictator of the world? These are questions that many politicians do not want to answer because they are afraid to admit that their way, the way of violence and death has failed. So, maybe it is time we give something else a try.

terrorism is a strategy adopted by the minority to bend the will of the majority. no, we cannot stop terrorism.
bush has bumbled this along, made some good decisions, made some poor decisions. he and his administration are short-sighted. they think that things are the way that they see them, and that's just not so. bush would like to be popular but he doesn't seem to understand why he's not. he thinks the evangelicals will save him.
i think a lot of people see him as short-sighted too. he's probably not overly bright either.
After five days traveling in Germany and Russia, Bush seemed tired of the proceedings. When someone, probably an aide, asked about final remarks, he turned down a text: "No. Just gonna make it up. I'm not going to talk too damn long like the rest of them. Some of these guys talk too long."
He seemed eager to leave: "Gotta go home. Got something to do tonight. Go to the airport, get on the airplane and go home."
Addressing one of the other leaders off camera, he asked how long it takes to get home. It was not clear whom he was talking with, but a good guess is Chinese President Hu Jintao, a guest at the summit.
"Eight hours?" Bush exclaimed. "Me too. Russia's a big country and you're a big country."
Struck by this, Bush then pointed it out to another unidentified leader. "It takes him eight hours to fly home. Eight hours. Russia's big and so is China."

the rest of the world liked clinton. in fact, most international press thought we were nuts going through the impeachment.
The world has always had war because of power struggles. Either religions or tyrants want to rule supremely. Worldwide love would be nice, but the world is filled with people who have hatred in their heart.
In order to win a war, you have to know your enemy, and that's where we came up short. We had the power to defend ourselves, but we underestimated them to the point where they grew into a killing machine, recruiting and planning their attacks. America isn't the only nation they have attacked either. So, it isn't just us that they hate, nor are we the reason they blow things up. They have had their wars with Russia, and Great Britain, and lots of other smaller countries. Their goal is for the world to convert to Islam. A good read, if you want to know how they think, is the Jill Carroll story. She was a journalist who was held hostage for 82 days, so she learned a lot about how they think.
This isn't a quick fix, you are right about that.
Moslems. I supported the destruction of the terrorists training
camps in Afghanistan but I opposed invading Iraq.
Arabs, still, teach children to hate the Mongols since their 13th
century invasion of Arab countries.
I believe in 2026, Americans will, still, targets for terrorist
because of Iraq.
If we turn tail and run, like we did in response to every terror attack in the 90's, we will never be safe. Don't you understand that they think we are going to cut and run and that becomes a powerful recruiting tool for the muslims?
The terrorists started this. We cannot make peace with slime. What we should do is bomb the hell out of them.
I doubt that extending a helping hand will do any good for our reputation. America is the most generous nation on earth and many of the recipients continue to hate us and even bite the hand.
I also don't see how food and medicine will change the hearts of the terroists and since they are such a scattered, multi-organization coalition that I doubt that we could get any of them together to try and satisfy them. Look at what happens to the aid to DPRK. It is funneled into satisfying Kim's perversions and maintaining the military. The citizen's are dying from starvation. Despite the aid, he is dead set on becoming a nuclear power and I don't think making nice will fix things.
This is not a war of have v. have not. It is a war of radical islamic extremist v. non-believers. They use the Koran to justify their jihad. A movement based on religious fanatacism cannot be bought off.
Simply put, America or the rest of the world cannot expect Iraqis to just shrug the whole thing off and assume that Qur'an has produced moony followers out of the entire Islam community.
Something has got to give. We cannot calm down aggression with aggression nor, stop terrorism with another form of terrorism.
You are right, Alex, America cannot extinguish fire with fire and expect world peace with it.
I know better then to make a statement out of anger! And this post made me so damn mad I could well... write an extremely emotional statement...
Alex,
I would suggest you actually read some history... If you had, you would know this to be a fact... The United States in the only country in the history of the world who has shown the greatest restraint the world has ever seen. We could conquer half the world before the other half would have a chance to respond. YET, we have consciously chosen not too! Americans give more to help the world then the rest of the world combined.
We did not start this war, and no amount of peace parades are gonna stop these people from trying to DESTROY this country... Not just kill or hurt a few Americans... NO! Their plan is the complete destruction of our country. It is with that frame of mind that I support this war and will continue to support this war until they surrender!

Oops, this is not to say that I am a hard-core anti-American or something. I guess I am just one who upholds equality among all men. Being that as it may, I expect nobody to be acting somebody in a roomful of civilized men.
You have no idea what you are talking about...
The proof is right here, ***Britian did not retake the colonies when they finally gained Independence.***
Wow, not only do you not know from which you speak, you truly don't have any historical reference regarding the world.
I guess it is better to leave you to talk this out with your childish friends, then to continue a grownup conversation you are obviously not mature enough nor educated enough to comprehend.
(BTW we did take over Mexico and then we gave it back! READ A HISTORY BOOK!)
I am finished with this hateful Anti-American thread!
Take care, bye bye then!

Your economic theory is somewhat week. The oil is useless unless they have a place to sell it. Many of the peaceful nations of the Middle East are prospering by selling their oil.
The death of Iraqi civilians has been a fact of life for several generations. Saddam murdered hundreds of thousands of his own people when they dared to disagree with him. Never forget about the mass graves that we discovered in Iraq. You seem to hint that the US is responsible for all the death of every Iraqi. Not true, The USA removed Saddam Hussein from power and that could have been the end of the problem. Don't think for a minute the US army is sitting around shooting Iraqi civilians. The Iraqi people voted for a new government and a constitution. There are the insurgents who don't want the new government and are fighting against it. They will loose and the new government will win and Iraq will be peaceful.
No offense here, but with that pipe in your hand and the freakish beard, you look like one of my yard gnomes.
Can you say "They're always after me Lucky Charms" just once for me, with an Irish accent? LOL
