Could Your Child Be Strip Searched At School?

This bill is horrible! This bill will open up a whole new can of worms that no one wants to get into. If they start strip searching children, there will be all kinds of lawsuits for all kinds of sex crimes, real or imagined! I say no dice this bill. What on earth were they thinking?!?! Or not thinking as the case may be...

the beginnings of more sexual abuse, believe me. Why aren't people up in arms about this? This is holy SH*T ! Exactly as Michelle said, MORE SEX CRIMES IF THIS IS PASSED.

It's like using a hammer to put a tack in the corkboard. Sadly, high schools are not safe places anymore. I think strip searches are a bit over the top.

This is a terrible idea. I agree with the metal detectors....that would be better. I can guarantee that if anyone strip searched my kids, they would be in for some trouble from me! This is giving permission to exploit our kids.

This is outrageous! Another freedom lost to fear in this country. Can't we just see a pedophile in the school deciding it's time for a strip search? This is NOT acceptable!

So, you don't like strip-searches? Let's all agree that it IS a violation. Agreed. But, now try to look at this with an open mind and from a far different perspective. First, one must acknowledge that public schools are an entrenched socialistic program that was created to give a mediocre education to the labor force during the industrial revolution. With the billions of dollars that have been collected over the years for the questionable purpose of paying for this run-away train, even with the billions of dollars of lottery money, public education has only succeeded in returning the mediocre education that was promised many moons ago; and nothing even close to what the billions of dollars should have returned to society. Let's take a look at socialism: it requires two main ingredients. First: "the givers". Second: "the givers". That's right. Both ingredients require givers. If you learned anything at all from the collapse of the Societ Union and the socialistic policies of Eastern Europe, you'd know that it failed miserably. That's because human nature took over. "The givers" collapsed under the weight of "the takers". As with all socialistic policies, reality wins out. The fra-la-la dreamers who think that everyone will be good little givers" are soon faced with the reality. This run-away train called public education is nothing more than another failed socialistic program that has become so entrenched that many folks fail to even see it as socialistic. On the one hand, we have "the takers", comprised of teachers, administrators, parents, students, and, of course, the liberal politicians who count on the votes from those takers. On the other hand, we have the hard-working citizens who pay for this run-away train. Many of them never used the public schools, they educated their children in private schools (or homeschooled), and are senior citizens who payed many times over for this failed system. And, don't try to tell me that we all benefit from the education of our "village" children. I've learned a few things in my 59 years. That's just something that "the takers" try to promote to excuse "the takers" for NOT being grateful for what "the givers", or taxpayers, are contributing. Let's say that a couple save and save and save for decades to buy their dream home. Since it's a new home and they're paying a heap for it, the tax man cometh and assess their home for thousands of dollars in property taxes every year. The home down the street, smaller, never improved, is assessed at far less. The occupants of that home have 6 children in the public schools. They had 6 because they HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO. They pay very little in taxes, yet benefit the most. Nothing, nada, ziltch, is required of "the takers". No volunteerism, no fees for more than two children, nothing in return. With the arrogance of anyone who gradually begins to demand what was initially contributed, they demand more and more. This beast will not be satisfied. 50%, or more, of our property taxes are already feeding it. It won't stop until WE THE PEOPLE stop it. Those of you who are "the takers" will someday be faced with the reality of having to pay for it. Then.....you'll see the err of you ways. As for strip searching the students .... I think I'll approve it. Why? Because, at the very least, it might make my streets a little bit safer. At least we get something back, huh? And, after all, the schools are PUBLIC, not private entities. Remember that, kids.

Public schools that are paid with our taxes.....that makes it my school and I will never think this is ok.

This makes me want to barf! Like there isn't a big enough problem with sex offenders working in schools.. now to feed that and let them strip search.. NOPE, I DON'T THINK SO!

When my daughter was in high school the security guard at the metal detector used to be fond of patting down the females. Needless to say he became known for inappropriate touching. My daughter was part of the theater group so she entered through the theater every morning and avoided this man. She waited until she was out of high school to tell us about this because she claimed that the girls who complained were treated worse. She knew that I would lodge a complaint. I feel sad that she had to go through that alone.

I would have to know why, how old the child is, and who is doing the searching before I made a decision. Teenager if the reason warrented would be ok in my thinking as long as the parents are notified before the fact. Elementary level only if the parent is present. Middle school would be the teetertotter level.

Strip searches are not hopefully going to be a part of whatis going on with this bill, however in the information that I read, it was listed as a possible search that could be performed. I am really afraid that it will lead to abuses. I would like to think, we are doing a better job at catching sex offenders before they get into the school systems. But it doesn't feel like it does it.

I know that I wouldn't want to even witness a strip search.
