When my oven died last year and before I had a chance to replace it an event came up and I was expected to bring dessert...Everyone I know wants me to bring dessert it seems lately..Maybe I've spoiled them with my Key Lime and Rum Cakes (Posted here previously) but regardless, this is what I came up with....But remember, the cake goes into the pan as you tear it, not your mouth....,:)
Bon Appitit
You will need:
1 10 inch Angel Food cake
1 (4-oz.) pkg. instant lemon pudding mix
1 1/2 cups cold milk-- whole, low fat or non-fat
1 cup sour cream- light or regular
1 (21-oz.) can cherry pie filling
Tear the Angel Food cake into bite size pieces and place in a 9 by 13 inch pan....combine pudding mix, milk and sour cream in a mixing bowl and beat until thickened, about 2 minutes... Spread over cake. Spoon Cherry Pie filling on top, cover with foil or plastic wrap and chill thoroughly..Makes 16 servings
Note: You can use the lite Cherry filling or the regular and, if you love Cherries you can use two cans..Or even Blueberry pie filling ..
Enjoy

I make trifles in a similar manner.........but I use a deep glass trifle bowl and layer the cake, puding, fresh fruit and jam or pie fruit..........I prefer the jam and using fresh fruit though
