If you are like me, who cook without following any recipe, this is a good tip when making soups. I wish I can learn this lesson myself. After I start out cooking the soup, I always think of additional things to throw in the pot. Then of course, the pot gets full and it broils over, and I have to clean up the mess on the stove. So, especially when cooking soups, it's always better to use a bigger pot, in case you decide, "Hum, let me throw in this too. Let me throw in that too."
