I 've always loved a good grilled cheese and bacon sandwich, but years ago stopped eating bacon for one reason or another...Just recently I had a craving for one but had no bacon in the house....sooo, what to do? Then I had a great idea, I had bacon bits...I took two slices of light whole wheat bread.. put one slice of low fat American cheese on bread, a handful of the baco's then another slice of the cheese, and of course another slice of bread...Put some butter spray in pan, then the sandwich, holding it together very carefully...I used a low heat so the cheese would melt just right without burning the bread...then sprayed to the top piece of the bread before turning the whole thing over...The cheese melted into the baco's ...When finished it was delicious and Almost tasted like the real McCoy....I calculated this sandwich to be only 2 points on weightwatchers program and only one gram of fat...
Well so far I've had it for lunch 3 days in a row...LOL

1 1/2 Tablespoons which is what I use, the bread is very low in cal, high in fibor, and the cheese has only 200 grams of sodium..I don't think that's too bad...could use other cheese though...I don't have a problem with my blood pressure so I don't worry too much about sodium..I just try to keep it at under 2000-3000 grams a day when I can.
