A few months ago I bought a jar of raspberry preserves on sale. My husband didn't like them and I wasn't especially impressed either. I've eaten them a few times and even slipped a few spoonfuls into a dessert pudding once. The rest of the jar has been sitting in the refrigerator.
Tonight I'm making skillet mini meatloaves (hamburger meat mixed with some left over rice etc). I would normally smother them in a little seasoned tomato sauce. I just happened to have about ¾ cup of tomato sauce in the refrigerator. I mixed it with 2 T raspberry preserves, 2T raspberry vinaigrette, and 1/3 cup leftover pineapple juice and poured the mixture over the mini meatloaves after I had browned and drained them. It's simmering now. When my husband came through the kitchen on his way to his afternoon nap, he commented on the delicious aroma. I didn't tell him the ingredients.
What he doesn't know won't hurt him.

You could also try using it as a topping in yogurt, smeared over pancakes, or baked on top of shortbread or sugar cookies.
Lisa, I love that idea also
I believe it would be good on ham - slightly sweet - but not very. You must have been writing at the same time I was.
