Here is a little trick that someone posted in one of the groups in which I am a member a long time ago. I thought it was a simple and neat thing to do and wanted to pass
it along to you:
INSTANT WHITE SAUCE
Here's a handy way to make instant white sauce:
Blend together until crumbly
1 cup soft butter and 1 cup flour
Spread evenly in an ice cube tray and chill well.
When firm remove cubes and store in a plastic bag in the freezer.
When you want to make medium-thick sauce, drop 1 cube into 1 cup of milk or cream and heat slowly, stirring as it thickens.
You can season it as you wish. I added a touch of soy sauce to half the cubes.
Another idea for a creamy pesto sauce is to add a cube of pesto to the sauce - you can freeze leftover pesto in ice cube trays and store in freezer bags.

Thanks for the tip!
Jenna, it is really a time saver and so simple! I have the contents of 6 ice cube trays in my freezer at the moment - just made them a couple of days ago for the umpteenth time!
