I need some craft ideas for pinecones

I have a bunch of nice pine cones that I want to turn into a craft of some sort. My neighbor girl comes over often and loves to do little crafts. She is in Kindergarden. Does anyone have ideas of crafts we can do using pine cones? Something easy enough that a 5 or 6 year old could do, with limited material:) Thank-you!

Make Christmas tree ornaments. Glue, glitter on the pinecones, and then I think tie a yarn somehow around the pine cone - or you can make a centerpiece using pine cones, glittered. My husband had pine cone Christmas tree ornaments from kindergarten, until they fell apart after many years.

My favorite: Gie a brightly colored slength of yarn around the large end of the cone to form a hanger. Using a aspoon or a blunt knife, fill the spaces of the cone with peanut butter. hen roll the sticky con e in bird seed. Hang the cone out of doors in a spot that can be seen from a window. The birds will quickly find this delightful treat.
