WHY CAN'T THEY SAY DAD?

I know I taught my kids to say dad .................

Why can't they yell for him when he is here?

It's always -MOMMMM can you tuck us in- MOMMMMM can you tell him to stop hitting me----MOMMMMM can you get me some water--- MOMMMMMM can you help me find the color pencils---------MOMMMMMMMMMM MOMMMMMMMMMMMMM MOMMMMMMMMM

They see DAD sitting there why can't they say DADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

OMG!!!!! every day I have that same feeling......LOVE it when I'm in the shower and DAD is right out there drinking his coffee...and daughter pounds on the door MOM MOM MOM I cannot find.................. AUGHHHHHHHH.

this too happens to me as well. I told the kids one weekend I was not answering them if they yelled Mooooom. So..after a bit they did call for Dad. Funny thing is that dad didnt even hear when they called. He was so used to it being Mooom that he hadnt even realized they had called for him!

With my three kids, they always came to me instead of their mother when they needed help or comfort. (Two different wives.) Perhaps it has something to do with how you responded to their needs.

Do you want them to grow up feeling loved, confident, loving, caring? If so blowing them off is the worst thing you can do. If you want them to feel loved, your only response when they come to you must by sympathy with an offer to help them while they solve the problem. (Note that the problem may be how to get dad to help them with something. :-) Any other response says bad things about them and indicates to them that they are not loved nor lovable.
