I usually use them both and they are trustable sites. I hope your son and DIL get better soon.
I'd even consider another doctor for the emotional stress they put your son through.
Rather than sitting around getting depressed and crying, encourage your son to follow-up with a gastro-enterologist and an endocrinologist for more specific guidance.
And everyone is right, he does need a second opinion!
else he gets this! But it is treatable IF he will follow that diet!Oh
my, and her with pnuemonia who's got the babies? I will have
them both put on the prayer roll and pray for them myself. :( :(
My heart is aching for all of them.

A doctor told me there was nothing to be done about the severe arthritis in my hands, but, through some research on m own, I found out there IS treatment out there. Don't believe everything a doctor says. Get a second opinion, and a third, if necessary! My prayers are with you and your family.
"Treatment
Relieving pain is the first step in treating chronic pancreatitis. The next step is to plan a diet that is high in carbohydrates and low in fat.
A doctor may prescribe pancreatic enzymes to take with meals if the pancreas does not secrete enough of its own. The enzymes should be taken with every meal to help the body digest food and regain some weight. Sometimes insulin or other drugs are needed to control blood glucose.
In some cases, surgery is needed to relieve pain. The surgery may involve draining an enlarged pancreatic duct or removing part of the pancreas."

I almost died from pancreatic failure, caused by hyperlipidemia.
(something totally different, still, the doctors initially thought it was everything else under the sun, except hyperlipidemia)
I am fine now, I just inherited the condition from my genes & now have to take an extremely high dose of cholesterol medication.
This happened when I was 28.
I hope your son gets better soon.
I know someone who has Pancreatitis, and she tries to limit her intake of fatty foods. She is doing very well.
