This morning during a walk in Manhattan, the man that gave us The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Pretty in Pink among others died of a heart attack. John Hughes passed away at age 59 during a visit with family this morning. Many of his movies are among my favorites. Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off were movies that i have watched over and over again and now my kids do the same.
The last movie he directed was Curly Sue in 1991 but he continued to be a producer until 2001 and continued to write into 2008 with his last script being Drillbit Taylor. In my opinion, it wasnt his best but then again I am stuck in the 80s.
My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. Rest in Peace John.

I'm stuck in the 70's, but I do remember him and how very talented he was and will be remembered as such. I didn't know about this, I'm saddened by this newest loss...Rest in peace, yes.
