Back in 1981, In Chattanooga Tennessee, there was a station Named KZ 106 that played the hottest newest rock. It was somewhere about this time that i started listening to more of the radio and heard alot of new bands. One of those bands (which had actually been around for quite sometime) was E.L.O. or Electric Light Orchestra. When I first heard the song "Hold on Tight" I fell in love with their music.
Sadly in my research for this post I found out that former ELO bass guitarist Kelly Groucutt passed away in February after a heart attack. Rest in peace man!

Curse this company computer and its lack of sound! I've enjoyed many songs of ELO. Thanks for the reminder, Bryan.

Thanks for posting.
A great song! Haven't heard it in a while! Thanks!
Another great group. This brings back memories.
The eightees were my kids times. I am sure they folowed this group my son in particular. He was the music buff in our home.
I've heard this song, and other one's of ELO's; but didn't know this song was them too.
ELO was big in the 70's and my parents listened to them..... songs like,
Now that you mention all those songs I realized how much I love ELO.
I love all their music! Cool link! Thanks!
Great post, Bryan. I had no idea about the bassist either. It's been a long time since I heard this song.
Talk about "memory lane". I remember when they started......in the early 70s, they had an addictive sound. I lost track of them in the late seventies, business running, family raising and house buying kind of put all else on the back burner. E.L.O. was probably the last band that I enjoyed with a certain amount of innocence. After that, it's taken until now to unpack the old vinyls & cassettes and start rediscovering some of the great tunes of a lifetime ago.
You chose a great tune to go along with this article Bryan.

I remember that band. That is sad that he is gone.
I have every ELO CD. I too like that one, but I was into them in the 70's. All of thier stuff is good. Sad to hear about the Bass guitarist. Bummer.
