Good evening dudes and dudettes! I thought it was time to return to my roots and do some 80's posts. I even created a new group. (Yep yet another, but hopefully this one will be of use to you.) The group is called The All 80's Jukebox. Hopefully you will be reintroduced to the great music and videos of the decade of excess and if you weren't a part of it perhaps you will find some music you will enjoy!
Back in 1982 I was in the car with my mother and a new radio station opened up called Rock 105 in Chattanooga Tennessee. The first 24 hours they played only one song and that song was Joan Jett and The Black Hearts version of I love Rock n Roll. It was my first introduction to Joan Jett and I fell in love with the song..OK OK OK I fell in love with the woman too! ha-ha! I Love Rock N Roll was actually a remake of a song written in 1975 by a group called The Arrows (Click on The Arrow link to watch their version of the tune!) but it was Joan Jett who made the song famous! Almost 30 years later I still love the tune, the band, and of course Joan herself! The song was on the album of the same name "I Love Rock N Roll" and feature other greats such as I'm gonna Run Away, Crimson and Clover, and Bits and Pieces. It was also one of the first album I ever bought!

There's plenty of music from the 80's that I liked, but this one, I hated from the first time I heard it. My opinion has not changed over the years. I find Jett to be extremely annoying. I wonder why that is? It sure seems to be a popular song, as far as the fact that it still gets plenty of play on the radio.
this is a good one, but my fave of hers is "do you wanna touch"

I wasn't allowed to listen to much 80's music in the 80's, or at least not until the end of the decade. My little sister and I both like 80's music now, though, a lot more than our siblings who were allowed to listen to it when it was actually on the radio. :)
I love most all rock & roll - 60's, 70's, 80's and maybe a little early 90's. Sorry I wasn't a Joan Jett fan, however but this song was pretty good.

Now that brings back some seriously great memories! I'll never forget seeing her in concert at what was called The Oregon Jam one year. She was awesome! I still love the song too. She disappeared fairly quickly though...
