In the 1980's change was happening in in the world of TV. Suddenly not every TV show had to have a life lesson. Special FX improved considerably from that of the preceding decades and best of all Reality TV meant watching the news or a talk show or even oddity shows. If you werent old enough to date (or were grounded), Fridays meant a wide deliverance of TV shows for every age and for lovers of various genres.
Sci-fi was in high gear. We had some shows that started in the late 70s and managed to stick around in the 80s. Some of the shows that were either sci-fi or bordered sci-fi :
- Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century
- Voyagers!
- Fantasy Island
- Galatica 1980
- Mork and Mindy
- Alf
- Quantum Leap
- Star Trek the Next Generation
- Alien Nation
- The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (BBC)
- Red Dwarf
- The Incredible Hulk
- Spiderman
- The Greatest American Hero
- V
- Knightrider
- Max Headroom
- Automan
I am sure there were more but thats all I can come up with at the moment. Can you think of anymore? Lets talk about what you remember!

i was old enough to date
but wasn't grounded
just a complete loser
who toiled his time away writing and being an artist
much like today
only now i'm old enough for beer
(though i still get carded for it)
my favorite sci-fi though is star wars
i am SUCH a junky man
i need a 12 step program
Hitchhiker's Guide is my favourite though! I LOVE Zaphad Beeblebrox with his 2 heads that argue. Thanks for the blast from the past!
I will admit that I'm a Sci-Fi junkie. I do own 3 seasons of Quantum Leap on DVD...all of Stargate and Stargate: Atlantis. I do want the Star Trek Series, but they are too expensive still. I have watched most of the 80's shows you mentioned....
I was home with two (very) young children in the 80's so I spent alot of Friday nights with Si-Fi! I watched all those shows.
