any tips

I made my own veil for my wedding but we are going back some years now. Go to a fabric or craft store. They have many choices of the headband part of the veil that you begin with. I'm sure you'll find instructions and patterns there, as well. Browse through the pattern books and you will get a lot of ideas. But shop around and compare because you might find that you can buy a veil as reasonably priced as a home-made one. Also, just Google search veils. I have a friend who ordered hers on-line and it was inexpensive and beautiful. If you do decide to purchase a pattern find out when they go on sale because, for instance, JoAnn Fabric holds sales almost once a week in which the patterns cost $1.99 each as opposed to $10, $12, and even $20.00 (depending on the brand.)

I happen to really appreciate the home-made touch of an inviation as long as it is not tacky. There are many patterns and ideas out there at the fabric and craft stores. There are also magazines that have ideas such as Bridal mags. Once again, just type in invitations, instructions for on Google. You'd be surprised how much info is out there. Local Libraries are a wealth of info in the craft department. Ask the librarian. Good luck and congrats.

I made the veil for my daughter and all the flowers. Table flowers and place cards. I suggest you try to keep it simple. Getting too big can get tacky. Like Laurun said you can buy the head frame at craft stores. If you have a micheal's they offer coupons each week. I used silk flowers. I simple veil might only take 2 sprigs. Cutting the leaves and flowers off. Look a thrift shops for pearls and "jewels" for the veil. Sometimes you can find a quantity of vases at a thift shop. Fill them with your own flowers - real or silk. We printed place cards and put them in mini frames. Every one had a gift to take home. We had children at the wedding and the restruant so very good and allowed us to buy happy meals for the kids. No wasted adult meals. I am sure other gathers will have wonderful ideas also.

If you do a google search you will find so much on line. I made my girlfriend's headpiece when she got married and helped with the table decorations and the dais decorations. Just keep it simple and elegant and it will come out beautiful.
