Prayer Request my Dear Sweet Larry's Last day at Work is Friday

Iam sorry to bother you with this but I need my Gather friends now.


Larry was called into a meeting today and informed Friday will be is last day.  I am on SS Disability and that doesn't go far.  Larry is 61 so he can't draw SS yet.  He also thinks no one would hire him because of his age.  I take 12 medications daily and we get our insurance from Larry's work.  The real kicker to the whole thing is that Larry was to have both knees replaced Dec. 18th.

I am asking for your prayers.  The guy they kept cannot do Larry's job.  I pray they find this out quickly or Larry can find a job his knees can stand.  I have faith God will see us through this.

I would be so very greatful for your prayers.

What terrible news at a terrible time. I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong. Something will happen. There are sites to go to for free prescription help for those with no insurance too. Google prescription programs. Best of luck. You will be in my prayers for sure!

I am on ssdi and the medicaid will cover your medicare d premiums. also If he needs knee replacements he should get at least medicaid if his insurance isn't Grandfathered for scheduled procedures I was lucky mine was.

Yes, but you have to pay the full premium yourself.

I am so sorry for this. You are in my thoughts and prayers. It angers me when I hear things like this, because it seems these companies will keep an inexperienced often lazy worker, over an experienced, hardworking knowledgable employee, for the sake of preventing that employee from collecting retirement or other benefits, or because they can pay the other worker a lot less. In the long run it will cost them more, but they don't seem to grasp that concept.

Patti, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. We share the same story, same ages too. My Larry was layed off back in September and at 61 it is so hard to find a job. We have been on COBRA and it is eating away at our savings. My disability doesn't help much at all. It's really the cost of insurance that bothers us the most. I know exactly how you feel. I'll keep you in mind if I hear of anything useful in helping finances and keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers. One good thing, I think your insurance should be good through the end of the month. Our's was when he was laid off.

I'm so sorry, Patti. What a blow. I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, Larry can go ahead with his knee surgery, since it's scheduled for December 18. Good luck, my friend. I had one knee replaced in August and it's so much better now.

Only because I've read a more recent article, I know that Larry had the knee surgery. I am still praying. God's been with you too for so long, I just know He is with you now and you will make it. These are such scary times. But you are one person who has seen scary times before and I think know how to handle them and rely on your faith. I'm rooting for you but more importantly, praying for you.
