GATHER ARE YOU LISTENING???????

Please, please, please could you address the hassle it is to post to our groups when we are "sharing"  our work????  It takes forever.......  Do you think we are so dumb that we can't edit out the groups where our work isn't appropriate to that group?  Can you please make it easier for us?    Put in a select all option and we can do the editing.  I think most people here on Gather are smart enough to handle that!  If you want to make this site "more user friendly" please do something about it SOON!  I think that is one big area where we all have frustrations!

I had a neat plan to celebrate my gatherversary, but it was canceled due to this crap fest I woke up to this morning :(

I think that group owners must have complained that people WERE using the publish to all groups when it wasn't appropriate.

Lots of people have been asking for this.. along with several other things!!!! for a long time.. but we don't get it.. we get this stupid, ridiculous crap they call an upgrade. The only good thing they gave us with this is the ability to embed videos.. even though I'm sure it will mean a lot of pointless stuff getting published, it will make it easier to do some things without having to just post a link.. I'd like the ability to group our groups into categories, and publish to every group in that category.. as well as a bulk photo uploader. and a favorites file to save articles I want to save for later to. ..and a few other things.. but we'll never get them!

Wow - this is the first "post" I read since the upgrade and everything looks so unfamiliar. It's like I'm not even on Gather :-(
the most viewed article on Gather says it all....the supreme adult blogging site goes adult....this is what the people that consider themselves adult want to see...apparently.....I don't know any of them.....

Sorry Trudy, I disagree. There are way too many people here on Gather who already publish to every stinking group they belong to the way it is. A sellect all option would only make that even easier. I hope Gather is NOT listening.

I'm not looking for a select all option. I would absolutely love a way to group and organize my groups, though. I use the Firefox addon iMacros and it helps a lot, but it's still time consuming.

Marianne, I'm confused..... if you belong to groups why wouldn't you want to post to them?
Why join them if you aren't going to post to them??? I certainly don't post to groups that aren't appropriate to the photo or article I am posting. We should be mature enough not to spam all the groups we are members of.

It would take a lot less time for me to select all and then scroll through the groups that don't work for what I'm posting, than it would to scroll through for the few of my groups that aren't post-alls or related to my content.

But I'm not sure a select all is the right thing. I think we need to be able to sort our groups into groups--- Like on the group posting section, be able to toggle between "all groups" and "groups in groups" or something like that and then view just one particular set of groups.... Or maybe call it clusters to make it less confusing... anyway... View the groups in clusters or whatever, and you could have a "post all" cluster, a "recipe" cluster, a "photo" cluster, a "video" cluster--- whatever clusters you want to make!

I like Jennifer's idea of "grouping groups." Just like in my email program, I create groups for people that like to receive email forwards, friends in certain social groups that I get together with, family, etc. Then with one click, the email addresses for the appropriate group are inserted in the send box. The same thing could be done with our groups!

If only Gather would listen...

I am with you on this one!!! i would like to see them maybe make a list with a check box beside each group where we can check or uncheck them quickly and then "select" the chosen ones all at same time. Something like that!!!! Or at least make the groups sortable into categories like our friends are.

They're not going to do that because every "click" on a page means they get more ad revenue from their commercial sponsors... All those annoying "click selections" mean more money in Gather management's pockets so, don't hold your breath...

I too wish there were a way to organize our groups, -- it gives me a headache going down the list looking at each group and making sure you are posting to the correct group!!

I agree with you Trudy, -- why join the group if I am not going to post to it?!?!? Btw though, I do not consider it 'spamming' if you are posting your work to any and all the appropriate groups in which your work pertains to!

Trudy, as a moderator of 16 groups I continually remove and decline unrelated content as it is. Daily from the same people, too.

With that having been said, it DOES take forever to post to the groups and YES it is a pain. Worse yet on more than one occasion I spend forever picking my groups and adding one by one to the send group and what happens? The page goes blank and I had to start all over and re upload my content. THAT is frustrating.

That happened to me this morning when I was trying to "share" another photo. I only had a little time before I had to leave for my Dr. appointment and when I hit the submit button it all went blank and I lost it all. Very very frustrating!

I agree with Marianne...group owners need to be more on the prowl of what is being put into their group, and delete it. Too many pepole don't care about what they post it to,. They just go down the list and click everything..
