Overview of Mental Disorders
This is a very interesting book offered by David Oliver of the Leverage Company. D. Oliver has created an abundance of materials for supporters of those who suffer from bipolar. He's an articulate and down to earth person who has a real desire to serve.
In doing research to help his mother deal with her bipolar, David Oliver discovered a shortage of good practical materials available for those of us dealing with a mental illness, whether we are a supporter of one who is suffering, or whether we are suffering from one ourselves. He set out to write his own materials based on his research and personal experience.
One of his projects was to research the DSM-IV. The DSM-IV is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (IV). He believed it was necessary to have a more reader friendly-version of this medical textbook available for anyone to reference. So he commissioned a team of professionals headed up by a medical doctor to write a user-friendly edition. The result is this book: An Overview of Mental Disorders. It comes on a pdf file and it is HUGE! So I'd save it to your computer and print it out in small amounts at a time, if I were you. I plan on writing a review of this book just as soon as I finish reading it. But I can tell you at first glance that this is going to be a terrific resource for you!!

Thanks for sharing this with us. I haven't read your entire post or the book yet but I'm going to download it. I've learned a lot about mental health issues from my many hospitalizations over the past six years for my depression; I know something of the other mental health disorders but really know a lot about my own (depression, and I'm always trying to find out more).
Hang in there!
Congratulations!
