The word prompt for this week is blink. Please excuse my frankness, for I do not know what type of poetry is what. Please forgive this forwardness, and crudeness of this poem.
One a tall handsome man with strong hands and feet
came a walking down the street.
Too my dismay I looked straight in the eye
and than I said "hi"
he only took a moment to look at me
and with in a blink of an eye
away he fleed.

I used to think about poetry styles, but decided it was a waste of time. Just write what is you. Let the inspiration of words inside you go on the page and not some regulation of style that makes it more like filling out a form than writing a poem. Just write from your heart. That is what real poetry is.

This one had me laughing out loud. After working with folks on the phone, they expect to see a petite, perky young person...and then this almost 6' amazon warrior type female shows up at the meeting. Can't tell you how many have said, Wow, you don't look like your voice! LOL! Just the shell, like a turtle, that we carry our spirits around in.
Blessed be...thanks for the smile today.
