I wrote last week that the results of my ultrasound were normal. Today I had to go to the ER because I was in so much pain. They did a CT scan and found a large mass, about the size of a baseball, on my right ovary. The doctor said it was not a dermoid cyst like I had last year on my left ovary. He had the nurses start calling OB/GYN's and found one that could get me in Jan. 17th, but he said he didn't want me to wait that long. I couldn't remember the name of the OB/GYN who did my surgery last year but they found it in my records and called his office. The doctor talked to another doctor in the practice and explained the situation. I am supposed to call tomorrow and let them know the ER doctor spoke with them today and I am supposed to get an appointment for tomorrow or Wed. with the doctor who did my surgery last year.
I am really scared. I don't know why the mass didn't show up on the ultrasound. The doctor talked to me about the possibility of cancer and the possibility of me losing my ovary, but I really won't know anything until I see the OB/GYN. The doctor I saw today said he thought it was a definate thing that they would want to take a sample of the mass, so it looks like I will be having some sort of surgery. I hope that this one can be done laperscopically and I won't have to be opened up like last time.
Please say a prayer for me if you are so inclined. If you aren't, please send me some good vibes and positive wishes.

My heart goes out to you, but try and be confident that they are catching what ever it is in time.
there are lots of things it can be other than cancer, so try not to worry until after you see the dr
here is a site that talks about the 5 type you may want to read up on them before your appointment click here
For now its best to stay calm, as best as you can.
Sarah-jane- They just did the belly one. Last year when they found the dermoid cyst it was with an internal ultrasound.
Keep your chin up and try not to worry until it's time to worry.
Worry never helped anything!
Good thoughts sent your way.
