Yes, its official, doctor even said! I'm due June 19th, 2008!!! Its gonna be a long hard road but i'm gonna get there... (remembers the song off of Seseme Street.. lol) I dunno what kinds of meds the're gonna put me on for my Bipolar, Anxiety, and ADHD... i was on Abilify and Seroquel, but my cousin works for the MHMR as a caseworker and said that they'll probably take me off of both of them. oh goodie. But i'm not with the daddy, we split before i found out and got with other people, but we're still good friends and he's gonna be there for me, he already is, and i'm with my ex fiance from high school... my high school sweetheart, and he wants to help with the baby too, so it'll have 2 daddies, and they get along, so its great, and my family's exicted too. Atleast i'm 20 and out of high school. Any one out there who's Bipolar got any advice? I'll listen to it all! lol. I hear enough right now as it is, but still, i like to have an open mind. ty ty!

I dont' have bipolar, so I don't have any advice their but I want to say Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! and my prayers and best wishes for a wonderful pregancy!!

Congrats! Look into some energetic therapies. One of my friends has reduced her ADHD and bipolar problems with various energy work such as SRT, EFT, and even dowsing. She is not on meds at all.

I am not a doctor, and can't give medical advice, but do ask a lot of questions and don't let anyone give you that "oh she's pregnant and crazy" kind of crap. Some doctors haven't figured out much about birthin babies, so make everyone explain everything.

You will do fine. Being pregnant is the easy part, its when the baby comes that everything changes.

Congratulations, all I can say is listen to your doctors as they will be the best to know about what meds will be safe while pregnant.
Definitely do as Charlotte said and ask questions. If you don't like the answers you get or feel brushed off about meds, feel free to seek another opinion from a different doctor. You'll likely be switched to low doses of meds, because it's safer for the baby.

You'll also have to keep in mind breast feeding afterwards means remaining on those same types of meds- meds that don't mix while pregnant also don't mix while breastfeeding.

YEA!!! Congrats! I'm glad that your so happy too!! That's awesome!! I'm sure the doctor will figure it out about your meds too, I wouldn't worry about it, you can't be the first bipolar person to b having a baby!! EverytimeI hear about someone being pregnant, I want another baby! My son is ten years old already...he ws such a good baby too. Good luck to you! congratulations and good luck. I am sure it will be a task with the switching of meds or taking you off of them altogether, but hang in there. I was not on any meds when I was pregnant with my son, so I do not have any viable advice on that. I will wish you well though!

Congratulations on the good news! Sounds like you are getting great advice already about the meds situation. My wife was previously diagnosed with bi-polar and ADHD, she's been med-free for about 3 years now. A lot of her problems stemmed from abusive relationships with other men. She is now a lot better off, and she really doesn't suffer bi-polar symptoms. Her ADHD is manageable with better organization of her day. A schedule is essential for her.
