careless

He hurt me

so deeply

with just

mere words

spoken carelessly.

Shook me

to the core.

He shattered

my hope,

tested my beliefs,

erased my dreams

in just one statement

He spoke

his truth,

his reality

and our worlds

collided

crashed

spiraled

down an abyss.

sue , I wish I could do that do ...i try to keep my mouth shut when I am angry ..otherwise I end up saying all that I regret later ...

This poem you wrote so describes what I have been feeling for some time now...I have always been taught to think about what you say before you say it..words spoken carelessly will hurt, for a long time..words can never be taken away...I have had words said to me that will never go away...said to me by someone who proclaims to love me...thank you Sue for writing this.

Sue, I'm so sorry for your hurt, I have also been hurt by words, let your intergity be your protective shell, and know that people that hurt you with words are sometimes afraid of your strengths, and want to humble you so you are not as strong as you are...it is called control, don't let it happen, it will eat at your soul. and smother your inter child. Survive strong girl, it is your right.

Very sad. The human tongue is the most dangerous thing on this planet.
unfortuantely we have to learn to take the bad verbage, and turn it into something good. This is not an easy task-as hearts are destroyed be what everyday people call simplicity. Simpleness is great when it is used fluently to express kindness, love, and friendship. Unfortuneately, our society has forgotten how to use words.

A simple statement to child, or spouse... Then we get blamed for putting so much importance on something someone else called a throwaway comment, without believing we felt they were throwing us away.

Sometimes life is sweet, but there is bitterness in it as well. We should see both sides and keep thelove of the beautiful moments in our heart and forget about the bitter staff.
