I observe Saturday the seventh day of the week, because although there have been days added to the monthly calander the weekly cycle has never changed. Contrary to popular belief, Jesus Christ did not rise Sunday morning, he was not in the tomb from Friday to Sunday. He was in his tomb for 3 days and nights a full 72 hours. Placed there just before the going down of the sun that would begin the Jew's Passover which was Wedensday at twiglight. He rose at twiglight Saturday evening, just before the sun set. God's day starts at Sundown not at Midnight. God said his Sabbath is a sign between him and his people. Jesus was and still is Lord of the Sabbath day which has always been Saturday the 7th day. Saturday the name came from Rome named after Saturn. Man not God nor God's Son changed the Sabbath day to Sunday and had no authority to do so from God. However many people embrace and keep Sunday as the Sabbath. Do I condemn them no. Sunday worshippers or those who are true to their doctrinal beliefs are every bit a Christian as I am. God looks on the attitude and heart of a person and it is not really a matter of salvation if you keep one day over the other. So If someone truly believes Sunday is the sabbath and they keep it accordingly then they are doing what their heart tells them is right. Mine tells me to keep Saturday. However now we get to the point of my title. I am not a Seventh Day Adventist, Nor am I a Jew. Which most people when they hear I observe Saturday automatically conclude I am one or the other.
I am attend the Church of God 7th Day. We keep Saturday but are very tolerant and accepting of other's beliefs. We do not keep Valentine's Day, St. Patricks Day, Easter, Halloween, Or Christmas, we consider they came from pagan origins. Some of us do observe some of or all the Holy Days set aside by God in Leviticus 23. We do observe birthdays, Mother's and Father's day, National Holidays, Thanksgiving and anniversaries.
At one time for nearly 23 years I was a member and attended the World Wide Church of God which once was a Saturday keeping church, Under Herbert W. Armstrong. Perhaps some of you heard of them or the magazine they put out called "The Plain Truth" We left them as a family in 1993 as we saw things we did not feel were right and were not biblical. That big world wide church split up into several other factions about 1995.
There are several Saturday Keeping Churches around the world and none are Adventist nor Jew.
I know of some of them
There is the United Church of God, the primary largest split from World Wide Church of God
Global Church of God
Philadelphia Church of God
Universal Church of God
Restored Church of God
Living Church of God
7th Day Church of God
Remaint Church of God
Seventh Day Baptists
New Adventist Church of God
Messianic Churches of God
Bethel Shalom Church of God
These are only a few of over 25,000 7th day churches of God or 7th day keeping churches around the world and many are right here in the USA. Some meet in living rooms, some meet in small churches. Or rented buildings. All keep Saturday, most believe we should not eat Pork or Shellfish or other unclean foods, Some keep the Holy Days listed in Leviticus 23, Some do not. All observe the Lord's Supper. All keep the Sabbath from Sundown Friday to Sundown Saturday or from 6 p.m to 6.pm. We all accept Christ as our Savior except the Jews who do not. So please when someone tells you they keep Saturday as their Sabbath day don't Automaticlly assume they are either Jewish or Adventist. We are no more Adventist or Jewish than Sunday keepers are Catholic. Some Churches we observe Saturday and are not Jewish roots do go clear back to Christ and his disciples

Yes the Jews and all Saturday (Sabbath) Keepers start the Sabbath on Friday at Sundown. We do too.
Thank you for this look into the words given to us by God, but I'm afraid that the meaning of keeping the Sabbath has slipped into going to a service one hour a week!
Taken for the NLT:
Exd 20:9
Six days a week are set apart for your daily duties and regular work,
Exd 20:10
but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to the LORD your God. On that day no one in your household may do any kind of work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you.
Exd 20:11
For in six days the LORD made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; then he rested on the seventh day. That is why the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
Oh! Mary, by these words I truly think its very clear where God stands, after all they were given to Moses along with the other 9 commandments.
Krissy, The early church changed things to suit themselves not to honor God!
Carol, Whats your point? "Passover" starts on Wednesday at dusk! You know the day Jesus was laid to rest!
Jennine, I see how Christians look down on the Jewish people and I find it to be very saddening because Jesus was born into the Jewish faith all the Disciples chosen By Jesus were Jewish and our complete faith was built upon the Jewish Law and Doctrine, the teachings come right out of part of the same books which make up the Jewish Teachings. In the book of Hebrews it teaches us to follow the law of Moses. When Jesus told of the two must important he didn't say not to follow the others.
Also, if we are true Christians we will not look down our noses at anyone. "Do not judge others lest ye be judged". I am not Jewish. I am a gentile who was given salvation and grace by the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. He came so that I may live. All through the bible, from the beginning we are taught that the Jews are God's chosen people. Those who smite the Jews, even today, are in essence smiting God. I choose to love all people, regardless of the name on the door of their church, as I would have them love and bless me, for we are all God's creatures.
Saturn is considered to be the Teacher/Tester planet.
A crucifixion [GRAND SQUARE, or GRAND CROSS] - would be a very SATURN experience.
Remembering, too, that Jesus was an Egyptian Initiate, and one of the highest of the Egyptian initiations is the 3-day Death/Rebirth initiation.
Spirit Calls ... each of us to truth. j.
If you're into past-life exploration for yourself, you might come across different lives where you underwent spiritual trainings and initiations of one sort or another. I know a little about Egyptian stuff from my own past-life memories. And I think I "flunked" the death/rebirth one, by the way....Oh well.
Egyptian priests and priestesses of a high level were called "Sons of God" and "Daughters of God." So when Jesus is given the title "Son of God," that's an Egyptian honorific.
Then became a WWCG at age 18 and from there where I am now. But I consider myself a member of The Church of God period and I don't mean organized relgious group. I go because I choose to not because I feel obigated too and I am not a "member" offically of the church group I now currently attend.
My main point was when people hear I observe Saturday they automatically I am either a Seventh Day Adventist or Jewish and I am neither one. Just wanted people to know there are others who observe Saturday too.
On our Interfaith Council are various Christians, Buddhist, Bah'ai, and I - a mixed God-bag if you ever saw one! We have this in common: we all believe it's a great thing for all the religious paths to contribute to Village well-being and good-heartedness. We're all basically fingers of one big helping hand.
