I have always had a desire to know about the various religions of the world. Even as a teen, I had questions that I was actively seeking answers too.My Senior year in high school, I did my term paper on how the Bible was written. I was raised a different religion than I am now. I always had a faith that could not be shaken. I knew the bible was true and I never doubted it. I loved studying about the customs of the days of the Old and New Testaments. I have always had a yearning to visit the Holy Land just to feel the Spirit of how life was in those days.
I have been reading Unholy Business by Nina Burleigh. It is a wonderful true tale of faith, greed and forgery in the Holy Land. I find that when I read this type of of book it takes me a lot longer than it does a novel. I like to study and analyze it as I am reading it.
What amazes me about this book is the description of the characters in the book. The author gives such details that the reader feels as though they know each of the characters lives and why they do the things they do.
I am also amazed at the large number of people who question the bibles truthfulness and look for ways to discredit it.
I am not nearly finished reading this book. It is wonderful and I will probably read it again when I am finished it. If you have not read this book and you want to know all you can about the Holy Land and the great lengths people will go to disprove the Bible, I suggest you get it. Have your library to order it for you or purchase it online. Amazon has it as well.
I will be doing a review in more detail once I have completed the book.

I would have loved to read that one as well. Shame we only got to choose one. LOL
That is a wonderful idea. It is really cold here today and raining. So it is a good day for reading.
Kate,
Be sure to do a review of the book so we know how good it was.
I have such a hard time doing anything after my therapy sessions that I just want to come home and sleep, so no therapy on tuesdays, so that's the day!!
What is intriguing me is the people that have faith, yet still have the desire or need to find something concrete to confirm the bible. I always looked at faith as just that, faith without concrete proof.
The definition of faith is "Believing without seeing" so they do not really have faith or they are just curious.
#1 Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade Money Saving Meals
#2 Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. A story about 2 best friends and the journey that friendship takes through time.
I am reading Summer at Tiffany. The author writes about the summer she and her friend went to New York City for a summer job and adventure. They land jobs at Tiffany and become the first female workers on the floor. I have just started but I am already sucked in.

I just finished a book called "Consequences of Sin," which is a murder mystery set in England in Edwardian time. It was pretty good. Right now I have started 3 different books, but none of them seems to be what I really want to read. Hmmm.
I'm reading The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd that I got from Gather.
This other book sounds cool.
Paying it forward...
I am reading several right now. Amongst them is Eat, Pray, Love.
